With a reputation for excellence, Hoar Cross Hall always offers that little something extra when it comes to the spa experience, especially when it comes to their Journey of Orient face and back treatment containing 23 carat gold…

What exactly is the treatment?

It’s a 55 minute face and back treatment including an invigorating exfoliation performed on the back with a Turkish ‘kessa’ mitt and a eucalyptus black soap to refresh, invigorate and smooth the skin. It is followed by a relaxing back massage and a beautiful 23 carat gold anti-aging facial to leave the skin radiant and glowing.

Where does it come from?

It is from the La Sultane de Saba brand, which is inspired by beauty rituals and secrets that date back to the time of the Queen of Sheba and Cleopatra, passed down through the generations from mother to daughter, merging tradition with the art of wellness. Each range is a ‘journey’, harnessing rare and precious ingredients sourced from all over the world.

The products are exceptionally natural, including some certified organic products assembled by hand and packaged in glass to preserve freshness. They are all without parabens, silicones or microbeads, nor are any products tested on animals. La Sultane de Saba also works with Fair Trade co-operatives to source certain precious ingredients such as pure Argan Oil and Prickly Pear (Barbary Fig) Oil.

What is it supposed to do?

Journey to the Orient provides an invigorating exfoliation when used with the Kessa Mitt, and dead skin visibly lifts away. Gold is known for its illuminating and anti-aging virtues. Cleopatra was known to sleep in a mask of gold to preserve her youthful beauty.

Is there anything you do to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment?

Along with the beautiful scents of the products; a light moisturising body, hair and pillow mist infuses the room with one of our sublime fragrances. The treatment is followed by a specially selected tea and Turkish Delight for you to enjoy at your leisure.

Is there anything you recommend clients to do pre or post-treatment to get the most out of it?

Following a treatment we suggest our guests relax in one of our snooze rooms, choose from our luxury heated water beds or head down to the sanctum to one of our hanging pods.

Is there anyone you particularly recommend the treatment for?

This is designed for anyone wanting to indulge in a unique experience or in need of pampering and relaxation.

Is there anyone who shouldn’t have this treatment and why?

The treatment is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant, if you have had a recent operation or are undergoing any medical treatment which advises against spa treatments.
