Your spa wedding checklist: treatments and pampering for bridal skincare

From winding down after all that organisation to wedding skincare, never underestimate the importance of a spa break or two on your pre-wedding checklist. Getting you feeling your best in mind and body, not to mention quite literally feeling confident in your skin, here’s our spa wedding checklist for treatments and pampering before your big day…

Wedding skin care - one month before: skin detox

Massages will help you to feel your best from the inside out. It’s recommended to have one a week as part of your wedding skincare in the lead up to your big day for the best results.

Benefits include:

  • Feeling less lethargic
  • Being less sluggish
  • Feeling more energetic
  • Feeling lighter and healthier

Bridal skin care at home: daily body brush before bath or shower

As part of your wedding skin prep at home, each morning brush dry skin in brisk strokes from feet to hips, wrists to shoulders, waist down and décolleté up and out. Pay particular attention to any dry areas and follow with a body moisturiser or oil.

Benefits include:

  • Stimulates circulation
  • Eliminates toxins
  • Boosts cell renewal
  • Helps tone and soften skin

Bridal skin care - One week before your wedding: facials

Now’s the time for the facial part of your wedding skin prep to give your skin a healthy glow but also to give it time to settle before your wedding. Skin will need a week to recover from the facial; you shouldn’t have one the day before because all facials will pull out toxins and while you won’t necessarily break out, it is a possibility we’re sure you would rather avoid on your wedding day. A week after a facial everything is renewed and the effects will be showing and glowing.

Look for a facial that will:

  • Deep cleanse
  • Exfoliate
  • Soothe and relax with massage
  • Make skin look firmer, plumper and reinvigorated

What to do at home: use a deep cleansing balm

Try a cleansing balm like ESPA’s Nourishing Cleansing Balm to cleanse, soothe and soften skin. For best results use a muslin cloth and really take time to massage, lather and rinse to rehydrate the skin. It’s also a great way to relax at the start and end of the day.

Benefits include:

  • Cleansing
  • Calming
  • Nourishing
  • Hydrating

Bridal skin care - one day before your wedding: finishing touches

The day before your wedding is the time to prep for all the finishing touches to your wedding skin care. Manicures, brows, lashes and spray tans can all be done at this point. While you can probably do all of them at home, a spa experience adds an extra touch of enjoyment that you can share with your mum or best friends. Just remember to exfoliate and moisturise properly in the days leading up to your tan for an even finish.

Recommended treatments:

  • Jessica GELeration manicure: a 45-minute treatment includes hand exfoliation, massage, cuticle care and nail shape.
  • HD Brows: Custom blended colour and an in-depth consultation to discuss size, shape and look.
  • LaLa Lashes: 30 minutes for longer lashes.
  • Sienna X tan: if you would like this to fade, opt for it a couple of days before your wedding and follow up with a gentle scrub at home for an even fade

What to do at home: follow up care

To ensure you get the most from your finishing touches and pre-wedding skin care, you can use products at home to ensure an even tan that lasts, immaculate brows, healthy nails and perfect lashes.

  • Sienna X Balance Body Wash to helps to prolong the life of the tan
  • Jessica Phenomen Oil to promote healthy nails and cuticles
  • Lash and Brow Beater - the secret weapon to immaculate brows
  • Lash Perfect Lash Care Kit for perfect lashes
