Royal Ascot and the spa hotels to stay at

Royal Ascot

If you’ve got Royal Ascot tickets this August then you’ve no doubt got the hat, the outfit and the parking all sorted, but what about the hotel? Staying overnight means you can enjoy it to the full from start to finish, but add a spa hotel into the mix and it gets even better…

Royal Ascot is the highlight of the racing calendar and by no means do you need to be an avid fan of horses and racing to enjoy the fun.

Starting in royal style

The meeting takes place every year in June, and is normally blessed with beautiful sunshine throughout the five days; give or take a couple of showers. Every day starts with the Royal procession of Her Majesty the Queen, and other members of high society, as they make there way down the final straight of the course and into the parade ring. So that’s a pretty spectacular start.

Royal Ascot dress codes

The fashion and glamour are always part of the attraction and sense of occasion at Royal Ascot. It’s a dress to impress occasion so there’s really no such thing as too much. Don’t be put of by the strict dress codes as there are various rules for the different enclosures; some more liberal than others. But do check them out before you go.

Planning in advance

There’s no shortage of sustenance at Royal Ascot. There are several enclosures from which to enjoy views of the horses racing. Then there’s ample bars and restaurants where you can have a few glasses of bubbly and a bite to eat. If you’re entertaining clients then there are lots of choices for restaurants and fine dining areas where you can book a table in advance as well for that extra sense of occasion.

What to expect

The race card for each day contains six races. The first is at 2:30pm and the last us at 5:35pm. But that’s not all. After the racing has finished there is the well known sing along at the bandstand to look forward to. It’s a chance to grab your Union Jack and sing old time British classics with gusto.
