Most purchased beauty products of 2021

Personal recommendations remain our favourite way to find new products, especially when it comes to beauty, and isn’t it interesting to know what’s in someone else’s proverbial shopping basket? Well here are some of the most purchased beauty products of 2021 according to surveys to give you some ideas!

Bobbi Brown vitamin enriched face base

LOOKFANTASTIC, which markets over 22,000 beauty products, found that Bobbi Brown’s vitamin enriched face base is one of the most popular products on the platform. A combination of moisturiser and primer in one product, it contains hydrating hyaluronic acid as well as vitamins B5, C and E. It’s perfect for preparing skin for make-up.

Pixi detoxifeye eye patches

Puffy eyes affecting that fresh faced wellness look? Pixi detoxifeye eye patches are a favourite amongst those in the know. Once again the all powerful hyaluronic acid is centre stage, along with cucumber, caffeine and gold - all of which soothe and brighten tired eyes.

Olaplex hair care

The hair care hero of 2021 was Olaplex and its combination of products to deliver glossy locks. The No.3 hair perfector has emerged as something of a hero product - salon quality and belong to repair broken hair bonds following colouring or heat or simply for dry hair. Used in combination with its shampoo and conditioner, it’s been hailed as a game changer with A-list fans rumoured to include the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Drew Barrymore.

Tan-Luxe illuminating self-tan drops

For a year-round sun kissed glow, these vegan, award-winning drops can be added to your regular serum or moisturiser to build up a gradual, even fake tan whilst hydrating the skin. No wonder it’s popular!

Elemis pro-collagen cleansing balm

This has been a longstanding favourite of ours - as one of the most popular spa brand on the market, it’s a joy to take a little of it home. The nourishing cleansing balm us luxurious to use and is deeply soothing thanks to its spa scent. It’s gentle on the skin and makes for a lovely relaxing ritual morning and evening.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian bum bum cream

It’s interesting that the most popular beauty products seem to focus more on skin health than make-up and cover ups in the last 12 months, and the rise of Sol de Janeiro Brazilian bum bum cream is no exception. It’s known for its pistachio and salted caramel fragrance as well as its use of guaraná extract to firm the skin - apparently it’s five times as potent as coffee.

Toning facial brushes

Facial cleansing brushes have had a real boost in popularity over the last year, and so too have home facial toning devices, which use micro currents to help tone the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

Mac’s Velvet Teddy lipstick

Harper’s Bazaar highlighted Mac Lipstick in Velvet Teddy as one of the most popular beauty products around the world. They said, ‘came out on top in an impressive 46 countries, including the UK, Australia and China, with 266k annual global searches.’ Plus Kylie Jenner apparently uses it, so that’s sure to be part of its appeal.

Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Lip Gloss

Another favourite is the Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Lip Gloss, described as ‘one of the best non-needle options for a plumper pout’. It nourishes and doesn’t leave any nasty sting or sticky residue.

While this list could go on for an extremely long time, these are some of our personal favourites amongst top selling products. Of course, we find that the best advice when it comes to skin and beauty trends, comes from the highly experienced spa therapists that we meet. Why not ask them for their top tips on your next spa break!?
