With offices in London and Brighton, Spabreaks.com was founded in 2008 by Abi Wright. The mum of three had worked in the hotel spa industry for a number of years and saw an opportunity to really highlight the beauty and breadth of the world of spa, where it had once been considered the expensive domain of women.
Since Spabreaks.com was born it has become an industry leader and innovator, breaking down boundaries and opening up spa opportunities for all regions, price points and occasions across the UK and overseas. We now work with more than 800 spas across the world and send more than 3000 people on spa days and breaks each week on the advice of our highly trained spa specialists. We’re proud to be able to offer a spa day or break for every body.
Big on body confidence and enjoyable wellbeing, our goal is to make the spa industry more accessible. That means booking opportunities and product variety (everything from decadent afternoon teas to total wellbeing retreats), but it also means addressing longstanding inequalities within the wellness industry.
With that in mind, Spabreaks.com pioneered Recovery Retreats – spa days and breaks for anyone with or recovering from cancer – an area that had previously caused much anxiety for clients. We also launched Accessible Spas to give individuals with any kind of disability more support and autonomy when searching for a spa day or break, with ‘at a glance’ information readily available.
The Hot Tub aims to provide helpful, entertaining articles from the team and spa industry experts around the world. From celebrities to leading names from some of the top health and wellbeing organisations, as well as the inside track on the spa destinations that we work with, The Hot Tub is managed by our in-house team and hopes to add enjoyment, understanding and knowledge to the spa experience for all readers whether new to the world of spa or a seasoned pro.
We hope you enjoy what you find, and that it plays a part in helping you in finding the right spa destination for you.
