How do I make my own spa day

Part of Spa At Home Guide

Start with a ritual

Aromatherapy isn’t just a wonderful way to set the scene for a spa day at home, but it can also be the basis of a spa ritual to help you relax and unwind as well.

For example, you could start with a dry body brush to help remove any dead skin cells and boost circulation. Simple, natural body brushes are available to buy in most chemists and it’s a great thing to do before a bath or shower. Brush dry skin in gentle movements towards the heart from the feet upwards - it’s that simple.

Assuming you don’t have an entire thermal suite at home, a bathing ritual can also be a wonderful way to prepare mind and body for a treatment, and give you the sense of having had a proper spa day.

An aromatherapy bath will open up the pores and relax the muscles before your treatment. Use a high quality aromatherapy bath oil (please be mindful for any allergies and to read labels and instructions before use - we don’t want any allergic reactions).

Alternatively, you could invest in a VOYA seaweed bath at home for a true spa grade experience. VOYA is the brand that harvests seaweed from the Irish coast, freeze dries it, and packages it along with all its nutrients, so that we can bathe away our toxins in the comfort of a spa or our own homes. It is a tradition that spans more than 100 years in Strandhill, Co. Sligo, and has remained something of a skincare pilgrimage thanks to its organic properties.
