Crerar Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa

8.0 Very Good (6 reviews)

On the west coast of Scotland, this idyllically located hotel enjoys uninterrupted views of Loch Fyne and that sets the scene for cosy, intimate escapes where relaxation and good times are order of the day. The spa is just as tranquil and is the perfect space to enjoy the wet facilities as well as succumbing to a restorative spa therapy, delivered using organic seaweed product house Ishga. The relaxation room post treatment is a particularly cosy and enjoyable way to end your experience.

A contemporary addition to the hotel building, but retaining a welcoming, rustic vibe, is the spa at Loch Fyne Hotel. Facilities include a 15-metre pool and built in Jacuzzi, a sauna, steam room and relaxation area in an environment characterised by wooden beams and wicker recliners, not to mention a Japanese Inada physiochair. Completing the experience, the spa also offers a range of treatments including aromatherapy, massage, manicures and pedicures – particularly welcome after a day of exploring the surrounding countryside or pottering about on the loch.

Once a privately owned family home, the Loch Fyne Hotel and the captivating view of its aquatic namesake so inspired proprietor, Paddy Crerar as he was passing by en route to the Islay ferry, that he bought it and turned it into the place it is today. Every inch the boutique hotel, it has a deceptive 71 rooms, each decorated in soft hues, while suites have the extra little luxuries of roll-top baths and views onto the loch.

Making for a complete sensory experience, there are three dining options at the hotel – the bistro is a relaxed, candle lit environment , and the lounge is an informal lunch and bar area blending rugged stonework and of course, panoramic views. For something more formal however, the Clansman Restaurant with its log and peat fires on cool evenings offers a range of local favourites using organic ingredients.
