As well as being home to Ireland’s first Walking River, renowned for its assistance in healing sports and fatigue related injuries, activities range from tennis and spinning, to and circuit training. Facilities meanwhile, include a fully equipped gym, a large indoor heated pool, Hydrotherapy Pool, Thermal Suites, Hammam, relaxation area, and of course treatment rooms offering a selection of spa treatments using a range of different products including Comfort Zone, Kerstin Florian, BASQ NYC and Les Luneides.

Hotel & Accommodation

On an island in Cork Harbour, which is home to Ireland’s only wildlife park, Fota Island Resort is a multifaceted destination, enjoying a five star rating for its hospitality. The hotel itself has 123 contemporary rooms and eight penthouse suites, but within the grounds there are also a number of self-catering lodges – depending on the type of holiday you are going for. Wherever you choose to stay, there is always the guarantee of views of the surrounding woodlands and championship golf courses.

Given the scale of Fota Island Resort, it is fitting that there are several dining options available. The fine dining Fota Restaurant is open all day, while the more casual Amber Lounge offers speciality coffees, light meals, afternoon tea, and cocktails, as well as an impressive selection of more than 75 whiskeys from the nearby Midleton Distillery. The Spike Bar at the Clubhouse, surveying the 18th island green of the Deerpark golf course, is also a favourite for its picturesque views.
