A Victorian-style country house surrounded by 10 acres of gardens, and views of Worthington Lakes, Kilhey Court is part of the Macdonald empire and has a creditable four stars to its name. Like the outside, interiors retain an air of historic design, offset by contemporary furniture in rooms that range from Classic Rooms to Suites.
Complete with chandeliers and garden views, the Laureate Restaurant is the fine dining option at Kilhey Court, serving seasonal fare; while teas are served under ornate ceilings and marble pillars in the lounge. For drinks pre or post dinner, there is also the Burns Bar.
Nestling in 10 private acres amongst the idyllic Lancashire countryside at Standish, the Kilhey Court Hotel & Spa's 4-star accommodation matches its splendid surroundings. The Macdonald Kilhey Court Hotel & Spa is just forty minutes from Manchester and Liverpool but a world away from the stresses and strains of city life. Stay in our classic rooms with period features, executive rooms designed to provide space and comfort or luxurious feature rooms with magnificent views. Alternatively, pamper yourself with a stay in one of our sensational suites, rooms that have Jacuzzi baths, separate living areas and larger beds. For guests with a disability, accessible rooms offer all of the same luxuries with specially adapted features to improve space and comfort.
Kilhey Court's rich history began in Victorian times when Thomas Fairhurst built the house for his wife Elizabeth. A well-known Wigan brewer, Fairhurst set about constructing Kilhey Court in 1884 as the ultimate in wedding presents. A hundred years later, a house steeped in history and family tradition opened as a hotel and now bears the Macdonald stamp of luxury and style.
