Providing space to work out and chill out, the Health Club at Ashford International Hotel is home to a gym that features cardio and strength training equipment, all overseen by qualified instructors. We made full use of all the facilities during our stay. Pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms were all very good. We also made use of the gym facilities. The treatments that we had were very relaxing. Would definitely recommend this hotel/spa. We would love to return once all refurbishments have been completed so that we could enjoy the finished product.

The treatments were okay but when sitting in the Relaxation room, all you can hear is thunderous bangs on the ceiling, which we assumed was from weights being dropped in the gym above. The pool and sauna were cold. There are not enough loungers to sit on and the jacuzzi was tiny. Not exactly the relaxing break we wanted.

We had a lovely spa day however it was very busy and I think the facilities are not big enough for when it’s busy. Jacuzzi is too small, steam room was always busy and we found that people would ‘claim’ the hot stone Loungers and general pool loungers by placing their towels or clothing on them even when they weren’t using them. Also, staff need to properly explain how to use the lockers as most of the time they didn’t lock. And only having 3 showers in the changing rooms when you have so many visitors for a spa day is not good.

Spa was good and facilities were clean if only the Hot Tub was bigger but we cannot have everything. Only feedback I can give is to ensure the therapists know exactly what massage their client is getting done. I believe one person in the group had the wrong one done. Also to ensure food is ready. Requirements of vegetarian food was already sent so to keep it ready. Other than that was a great experience and would go back again.

Spa was lovely and loved the relaxation room just a shame that poor planning of the gym meant that if someone using heavy weights above the room this caused loud thudding noise in relaxation room but was fantastic when this didnt happen and would not stop me returning the treatment were really good. Overall I think it would be the the staff and therapists that would bring me back to Ashford. My treatments were amazing. The pool area needs more loungers and relaxing places to sit. The hard chairs round the pool are very unattractive. The food, fabulous. Very good portions and plenty of choices. Food hot at all times. The breakfast also fab with plenty of choice. The colours of the rooms are a bit dark but very nice. I would definitely go back. Again I cannot stress how nice the staff were from the time we arrived to the time we left.

4 of us came to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday. We were promised a 60 minute treatment. We went in at 4.04 and were finished with at 445. I was only half dressed when my masseuse walked back in. Not as described and in a rush to get next person in. Therefore not good value for money.

We has a 55 mins massage to begin with. This was very relaxing and the therapists were quite good. Our next treatment was the hot oil full body scrub. This sounded better on paper than it felt in real life. It could have been much better. Overall experience was ok.

The food is lovely. If you want to do a health spa class you need to book in advance - that would have been useful to know! The pool only has a few chairs/loungers so you may not have anywhere to sit when it’s busy. We had mixed reviews regarding the treatments. Full body massage seems the best option. My facial was sparce (lots of faffing with lotions) and the body scrub didn’t get high marks from my group. I don’t think we’ll come here again but we did have a nice time.

Treatments are very good, my friend had a manicure and was very impressed with Liberty. I have had a fit for business massage and a Express facial. Personally I do not like the products they use but that is a personal choice. The massage is very good and relaxing, I fell asleep it was so good

The treatment was amazing and the relaxation room is lovely to spend time in before and after. Used the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, only fault is people seem to hog the jacuzzi so had to wait a long time to actually go in there but other than that could not fault it. We didn’t use the gym on our stay. Changing rooms were a decent size only fault was with the lockers, the code lock didn’t work well, a member of staff also struggled to get it working, after lots of attempts and changing lockers about 4times we managed to fine a locker which worked.

My treatment was amazing. Unfortunately my husband had a deep tissue massage, the therapist told him she wasn't trained in it.....if you know that you aren't, why put that therapist in to do that type of massage??? The spa area need lot's of attention, a good paint wouldn't go a miss. There was a hen party with lots of women plonked in the jacuzzi drinking prosecco, plastic cups left everywhere towels on the floor, nothing being cleared up and the worrying thing was they had a glass bottle on the side of the jacuzzi....not good. I have been coming here for years and this is the least I have enjoyed it, won't be booking again. Such a shame as I had booked it for my husband's birthday.....feel let down and ripped off

Also when asked to wait in the relaxation room prior to being called for treatment there was no space! So not very relaxing. Think too many people were fitted into one afternoon.

For the amount of people using it, there needed to be more beds to relax on. Everything is really too small for the number of clientele. The therapist that I had did seem to be lacking in conversation. Only spoke when asked something. No personality. Treatment only lasted 40 mins from start to finish, was expecting 50 mins.

Spa was ok, bit tired and too many kids jumping in and out of the pool. (Parents ignoring signs). Changing facilities were good, the jacuzzi, beds and sauna are all packed in too close to each other. The treatments were AMAZING, one of the best I have had, the only thing was the attempt to sell products at the end of the session was a little strong. Food was dreadful. Buffet looked tired, little choice, dark, drab restaurant. Deserts were a bit better than the mains. The hotel should have more options, all veggie options contained mushrooms for example. salad bar was tiny and floors and tables unclean. I’d go back for a treatment but not a spa day.

Unfortunately the swimming pool was cold. There was also a group of gents there who were swearing and being very laddish. It was rather intimidating so I didn’t want to spend much time there at all. The treatments and therapists were nice. Shame about the clientele. It seemed a little rough to be honest, not what I would have hoped from a spa break.

The hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming. The Spa facilities were a bit of a let down though, the swimming pool was freezing and the jacuzzi is tiny. The steam room and sauna are also very small. The relaxation room and treatment rooms are lovely and the ladies that work in the spa facility are very professional.

The spar was far too busy, there was not enough beds or chairs around the pool area, to the point people were sitting in the relax room. This meant when 3 of my party went into the room before our treatments and to fill our forms out, there was no where to sit! we had to stand until we were called in for our treatments. This was really disappointing for my party. The treatments and staff were fantastic. The Eden room was not welcoming, there were no cups only dirty ones and very messy. I had to ask for some clean cups for my party. The clean cups came but no milk! then we discovered the drinks machine wasn't working. The Eden room needs to be more welcoming and cleaned at regular intervals. The Spa was too busy for the amount of people booked in. My party had to have 2 x 30mins treatments, this meant we could not have lunch together. There was not enough lockers, not enough space in the very small hot hub to accommodate all the customers, not enough space/ setting area around pool. Hence why people were setting in the relaxation room. Eden room being a mess with dirty cups everywhere!

first time staying at the weekend and had to pay more for the weekend surcharge however as it was so busy the whole experience wasn’t the same. We went into the spa area for a relaxing time all beds and seats were covered in robes and towels and most unoccupied, we felt uncomfortable moving them so we could sit down, jacuzzi was occupied for two hours by the same group, I appreciate you can’t help how busy it is but there could be a sign up about leaving towels and dressing gowns on beds and seats if not using them- really disappointed the food at lunch wasn’t the best, salad bar dissapointing looking bland and dry and also clearly the lunch was last night’s left overs from dinner again saving the day was the lovely staff the ones doing the treatment, on the spa desk and at lunch so polite and going above expectations

Therapist asked me what pressure I wanted on my massage . I asked for medium . She was very rough but I just thought she was getting knots out of my back but when I got home I discovered bruising on my back from the massage !! And my back was hurting ! Not at all rejuvenated!

I thought the Jacuzzi was tiny and it was in demand by all users so unfortunately I spent 2 mins in it and got out....it's not big enough for 4 let alone 6. However, I was extremely impressed by the politeness and professionalism of two therapists. I have been to the Sanctuary in London and babbington house for treatments but Chloe was by far the best. Her colleague Bethany was also excellent. These two girls deserve a special mention.

I was pretty disappointed to find out that the hotel gave me and my partner a standard room when I had already paid for a deluxe room. I was told by the hotel receptionist that I had to contact Spabreaks customer service which I did straight away but I only managed to get through to them on the day I was checking out. The hotel itself was very nice, good location, food was ok, pool area was nice, plus the sauna + steam room was open which was really good.

As a group of 8, we were well informed by the staff about the changes to our stay surrounding the Covid rules. The lunch was really lovely, as was the dinner. Service was a little slow but the restaurant was fairly busy- that applies to dinner and breakfast. The spa was great but could do with some additional chairs as the two were already taken when we arrived. We weren’t informed the sauna and steam rooms would be closed, however that didn’t affect our stay.

The overall experience was amazing, the only things that let it down (hence my 2/3 starts) was the building works going on in the reception area - the building needs updating so this wasn't my issue - my issue was that i wasn't told. When i arrived the noise was so loud, I had to move my relaxing spa break friends into the restaurant. I wasn't offered to do this as an alternative, I had to find an alternative are myself. Once in the restaurant area, it was a lot quieter and the building works did stop by lunchtime. The other issue was the staff members (1 staff member in particular) - when we moved into the restaurant, we were meet with a very rude attitude. We were made to feel like we had gatecrashed a closed area and were not allowed to sit there. It was as if we were an inconvenience. Which to be honest was quite funny, because the building works were a complete inconvenience yet our whole party were not rude or disrespectful to any staff member due to this. As a service industry, it was hard to believe that this particular staff member was working in that industry and was not aware of how rude their approach was! Especially to a large group of paying individuals specially attending the hotel for a relaxing spa weekend! Please let me highlight that all other staff members including the restaurant manager and reception staff were very helpful and accommodating, discussing any dietary issues and times for our cocktails which was wonderful - it was such a shame that these other things tainted our visit.

Room was very comfortable. The furniture was a bit old, but this was not a problem at all. Bed was comfortable however I found the pillows weren't that great. This did not take away from our stay at all. We also had good meals at both breakfast and dinner. Overall a very relaxing weekend. We would love to return once the refurbishments have ended, so that we can see the finished product.

6 of us went on a Spa break which was fantastic. The bar and Restaurant staff were extremely slow and did not know how to serve correctly. At breakfast we were not asked if we wanted tea or coffee or anything, we just had to sort it out ourselves! During Dinner the service was painfully slow, with drinks, food and the bill. It was a shame as the Spa was brilliant. We have been coming here for years, this was the worst service we have ever had, it was all the bar and restaurant staff, they must have been new with no or limited training, it was very poor.

The room was very comfortable and the staff were helpful and friendly. It was unfortunate that the service was extremely slow in both the bar when ordering simple food, and in the restaurant in the evening. For example it took half an hour for our sandwiches to come out at lunch time and 20 minutes just to get our first drink when we sat down for our evening meal.

Suite was comfortable although was booked for three of us it wasn't ready for three. No bedding for sofa bed only 2 cups 2 wine glasses etc. Apart from the big conference going on in a separate room, the rest of hotel was so quiet no atmosphere. Restaurant staff were lovely. Although restaurant was so cold we left early. Food was amazing.

Me & my party of 6 had a great time. The staff were friendly, welcoming and eager to help. Couldn’t be more pleased. Our rooms were ok, not great. They were a little dated and need a refurbishment. I suffer from eczema and hay fever and as soon as I entered the room, my chest felt tight and my breathing was wheezy. I soon spotted some cobwebs hanging from the ceiling by the window, dust on the skirting board by my side of the bed. There were also marks on one of the walls and on the bed throw. I called Reception and requested for a room change but was told the hotel was fully booked so they would send housekeeping up, who came up straight away to clean the cobweb and skirting and hoovered the room. They also dusted above the headboard & therefore moved dust onto the pillow. I don’t normally have to ask for hypoallergenic pillows but I did on this occasion. As we made full use of the spa and restaurant facilities, I was not in the room long and it didn’t spoil our weekend. However, I was disappointed, as the rest of the hotel; staff, restaurants (food was good, plentiful with lots of choices) and spa were very good

Room clean and ok size for 2 sharing. Bar £12.50 for a G&T, on the pricey side. Dinner disappointing, didn’t have the wine we chose and food was like a supper I would serve at home - so pretty average. Breakfast again ok, had to wait for fresh fried eggs for some time, no helpful friendly staff to say how long wait would be. Waitress looked grumpy. But overall most staff ok, happy and helpful. However I left a pair of jeans in room and despite saying exactly where they were housekeeping couldn’t find them. So overall disappointing.

The hotel staff were fantastic and we can not praise them enough. The staff were welcoming, helpful, cheerful and dedicated to the hotel. From the receptionist, resturant staff, spa staff and therapist. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend it. It was great value for money but if I were to be really critical then I would suggest the hotel provide a small room already equipped with large screen TV for group spa package.

Unfortunately the air conditioning was not working in the room. Too late to change rooms but led to a very stuffy room and uncomfortable sleeping conditions. Due to this had to have the windows open and was awoken at 1am by a coach returning to the hotel and people hanging around outside the hotel reception.

The stay at the hotel was alright to be honest. However, my experience could have been improved. The resturant took quite long to bring out your food once you order. It took about 45 mins from when you order to start eating. My friend found dirt on one of her forks. She got it replaced but it put her off to begin with. The menu is quite limited and everything is more or less the same. I wasn’t a big fan of the food as well. The room we got was quite cold and the heating was not working. The manager brought out an electric heater and tried to help as much as he good. Overall, our experience could have been improved but it was not all that bad.

I booked three twin rooms and was allocated three doubles. When I queried this with the front desk staff they assured me my booking was for double even though I had my spabreaks confirmation with me. Not a great start. Despite this the rooms are comfy. The food here is amazing! The drinks are expensive - £35 for a bottle of Prosecco! The spa facilities are ok.

The hotel and staff were absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much for them. What I would say were the bar/kitchen staff probably need more training/ support. We wrote down on a sheet of paper exactly what we wanted for dinner and quite a few items were forgotten or didn’t come out as requested. Shame as that was the only thing that let the hotel down. Otherwise lovely! Highly recommend.

This is our sixth spa break at this hotel. The treatments are very good and most of the staff are brilliant. Superwoman Angie in the restuarant always goes over and above making you feel special and deserves recognition for all that she does. The hotel is starting to look a bit dated now and needs a bit of a face lift, but the rooms are adequate, we always upgrade to the family room as you get loads more room. It is very quiet even though you are near the motorway, never had any trouble sleeping as very relaxing especially after the treatments. Food is very good but so filling so don't over indulge. Drinks are expensive, well a lot more than I usually pay.

The room was basic, bathroom design awkward and not design with detail and thought. Toilet roll holder was to the left and hard to reach. The shower should’ve had a screen instead of a curtain. The wash basin tap was flowing to fast which caused it to soak the mirror. The room had a Christmas brochure! The member of staff who served us at the restaurant was not nice or friendly, she did not ask if we required a drink top up or if we was happy with our food. No smiles... The food was not nice so we decided not to have breakfast, which was included in our package. The reception staff was very friendly.

The beds could be more comfortable and feather pillows are only reserved for king or double rooms which seems unfair. Also the twin rooms have adjoining rooms which if not being used can mean noisy guests the other side of the door, so worth noting if you're not staying as a family.

Checked in and the staff on reception were lovely. Only problem we had was trying to get drink at bar about 3.30. No bar was open even though we were told that the bar was. When I went to reception they called for someone who turned up after ten minutes and told us we had to wait for the other bar to open. Went to other bar and the staff were just chatting and ignored us. Eventually one young lad came out to serve someone who was ordering a £27 shot of brandy, worrying thing was he was putting it in hi ball glass and the bloke told him he wanted a warmed brandy glass......we decided to give the cocktails we were going to order a miss after that! The only positive was Angie in the restaurant, always lovely and friendly, happy soul and a credit to the hotel. Not sure why this place has gone downhill, but it is a real shame. I was sick and on the loo all night and can only put it down to my main meal, as after that I became really ill. It was sea bass and polenta Chips, the Chips were so oily but rock hard, I hardly ate them, so not sure what it was ......also two wines that we asked for they didn't have in stock.....

We had a big double room + a sofa bed. The double bed was lovely however the pull out bed was like laying on a big spring. Think it’s seen better days. But the room was clean and tidy with everything you need. We had a spa day booked - the treatments we had were fabulous my only criticism is that the pool area was so busy all beds were taken leaving us to miss out on the part which was a real shame. Food was amazing can not fault it in the slightest. I think my Mother In Law loved her surprise Birthday Spa break with you.

Wonderful relaxing experience with a spa break for myself and mum. Food was exceptional and the hotel facilities were great. Only criticism would be the awful cheap wine glasses used. I expect a nice glass if I'm paying £9.75 for a glass of wine. A little thing I know but this wasn't nice. Will definitely be back.

We had a great stay. This was our 5th spa break as a group. There are just a couple of comments: a) better lighting in the room as it is really hard to see what you are doing hair and makeup wise...lights round the mirror? b) a fridge as standard would be good c) wine prices are a bit OTT!

I have been here on a spa break many times. The staff are lovely, hotel fantastic. The restaurant staff we extremely slow with serving us all night, especially when ordering drinks. In fact our food came before our drinks. The bar was so busy we could not get served at one point, due to an event on.

Too busy. Restaurants were overcrowded. The staff could not cope with the number if guests arriving at the same time to eat. Food served was not cooked properly (raw). Room was ok.

We had an amazing time at the hotel. The staff were outstanding I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my family and friends. Can I say s very very very big thank you to Jade Clapham from spa break who help us find this spa break. My mother had a wonderful time for her birthday. Thank you spa break

This was a spa break for my wife’s 26th birthday. The hotel was lovely and staff friendly. Only disappointment was that there was no key safe facility in the hotel room.

Had a wonderful time but slightly marred by the fact that promised a surprise for husbands birthday only to find it hadn't been handed over,waitress in restaurant went into kitchen after I mentioned it and bought out a cookie and reduced bill slightly for us because she was upset for us (bless her) other than that can't wait to do another spa break

I must say I have been at this hotel 3 times before and love the hotel however this time was a let down. I didn’t get to sleep to 0330 am as there was a function going on and lots of rowdy noise and door banging in the corridor really disappointed as this was for my birthday and my mums again 5 stars plus to the staff tho as there exceed your expectations amazing service hence the 3 stars and not one!

First visit to this hotel and was impressed. Staff were very attentive but one staff member was excellent. Her name was Maria and she was in the bar/restaurant. She was so helpful and polite. An asset to the hotel.

Lovely hotel with great food and drinks and a great spa and pool, sauna etc. Beds were comfy and buffet breakfast and lunch was a nice variety. Staff were also lovely
