Lovely relaxing spa day. I took my daughter for her birthday and we had a really lovely time. The staff are really good and the massage/facial was amazing.
Prior to arrival we booked our treatments over the phone. But were told when we got there that those we had chosen could not be done- as they would involve going over same area twice. Better communication of services to phone staff is necessary.
The treatments themself were mostly lovely, though I wish I were asked about firmness in the massage- as it became uncomfortable at several points. My partner loved his massages though.
The pool was nice and quiet. Easy to distance from others and good prominence of cleaning products to wipe down loungers.
Spa facilities are very basic. 2 of us had bad treatments, 1 was so bad they came out being more awake than when they went in and knowing the therapists whole life story. We did mention it to the spa who gave us some freebies, but seeing the person who had the worse one was in fact the hen and given how bad their experience was I think a free treatment was in order.
A wonderful day from start to end. So relaxing. My therapist was wonderful (I'm sorry I cant recall her name). She got rid of some very big knots. The food was excellent. Cant fault the whole experience.
AMAZING TREATMENT. However, felt that it was overpriced for what it was, a small pool with steam and sauna room, and the steam room smelt of damp mould so didn’t use. Facilities were clean and presentable. Wouldn’t pay the same price again to return.
The spa experience was wonderful overall. We were met efficiently and were informed that one member of staff was off sick and relevant treatments were rescheduled to the next day. There were many loungers by the pool and the sauna and steam rooms were of a good size to accommodate all of us! We were even allocated our own dry changing area with a shower and toilet. That was wonderful as we could all use our own little room to leave our bags and get changed. The staff were friendly and very helpful. My only gripe was that the treatments varied from therapist to therapist. There was one therapist who talked all the time and it felt rude to not answer or respond but it did not help with the relaxation aspect. My particular treatment was a whole body exfoliation with a back and neck massage. My experience was really different to the others in my group who had the same treatment. My therapist certainly did not exfoliate mu upper legs/lower buttocks. She also used a weird massage technique where did not appear to be any flow or repetition of the movements. the massage seemed to be quite random and she often did not complete the same range of movements on the other side. I did not say anything as i kept thinking that she may change it up. When i compared my treatment to the others it was not of the same quality for sure.I regret not following this up with the spa manager.
overall though we would definitely use this spa hotel again.
A nice spa, plenty of loungers by the pool and the buffet lunch was excellent. Very good value for money in my opinion. Only main downside was my treatment was only 40 minutes when it was advertised as 60 mins. When we arrived we were advised it would be 50 mins with a 10 minute consultation, which made sense but in the end it was only 40 mins with no consultation which was a bit of a shame but overall for the money it was a good spa.
Unfortunately when booking we didn’t get told the food was before our treatment so didn’t eat before ,we did get offered food after ,but didn’t have time to take up the offer, The staff and therapists were brilliant, the explanation of what was going to happen was spot on and all our requirements were met . Please thank Kayley, Emily and Britney. They made us very welcome and relaxed.
Spa and restaurant was nice, staff were very friendly. Treatments were fantastic. The changing rooms were not good though-tiny and cramped, half the lockers not working. There was a group of ladies who were there for their aqua aerobics and so 12 of us trying to change in a tiny space was awful. They said it had been that way for nearly a year which is not acceptable
Simply wonderful 2 night stay. Refreshing, welcoming and indulging.
Best of all was the restaurant newly promoted supervisor Connor. Example of such excellent customer service that includes patience and engaging.
No jacuzzi but overall 9/10
Another great visit now they have bought back the light lunch in the restaurant. Slightly spoilt by the booking because I was assured my request for an early or late massage would let us lunch at 12:30. This didn’t happen leading to a very late lunch which by that time did not leave a lot of choice!
I loved the treatment I had at the spa! The lady I had was really friendly and made me feel special and comfortable. She tailored the treatment to suit me and I felt so much better afterwards. The relaxation room is a really lovely touch, the pool was clean, there were plenty of places to lay down and the changing rooms were nice
We arrived at 9:30 and were told early on that we either may not have our treatments or have a reduced treatment due to sickness. This was slightly disappointing. However within an hour it was confirmed wencould have a 25 minute treatment and book in another day for another 25minute treatment, including spa/ lunch again. So the compensation offered was another spa day, with a 25 minute treatment. The treatment for me and my friend were amazing. The facilities were relaxing, with a swimming pool, steam room, sauna and heated beds. I’ve been to this place before and it was again a relaxing experience.
There were six of us overall and we had a really great stay at the hotel. The spa treatment was really good and relaxing. The pool was lovely and not cold, plenty of sunbeds for lounging with a good book or a total rest
The treatments provided by Sharon were fantastic and they didn't disappoint. She took the time to explain everything fully and ensured at all times I was comfortable and the pressure during my massage wasn't too excessive. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a jacuzzi and some of the lighting in the steam room wasn't working. I also found the changing rooms to be compact and with more than 5 people it felt overcrowded. There wasn't enough lockers for non-residents, resulting in some people taking their belongings with them.
Our treatment was the only good thing about our stay. Tatiana was amazing all round and very professional.
The swimming pool and steam room etc was a great let down and looks much better in photos!
Arrived greeted well everything explained went had coffee before treatment returned taken to double room which I had requested but not promised. Treatment fantastic cannot fault the two staff members Amy. We then chilled out in a room relax room that had beds and chairs in could make teas flavoured and water. Could have done with soft music in relax room. Went for lunch which was great value for money. Clean and tidy restaurant. It was when we returned to use the spa facilities that it was let down we went in steam room and smelt of stagnant water I told a member of staff and she said she would deal but an hour later not dealt I went to reception and asked again and still waited I returned and the manager said they were just coming which they were. After that it was ok. Steam room and shower good. Swimming pool normal swimming pool lacked ambience for a spa and again no music. Showers and changing rooms good with hairdryer. Enjoyed the day treatments and lunch were what made the day for us would I go there again probably not due to lack of ambience and the pool area slightly dirty and no jacuzzi
The spa staff were very helpful, professional and friendly, and the massage I had was amazing. The only thing that spoilt the day was the food at lunchtime. Our light lunch was pre booked as part of our package, but when it arrived it was stale. The wrap was grey and black and the crudités were soft, wilted and dry. The waitress was apologetic and said she would bring another one, but told us there was only one chef on that day so there would be a delay. We had to wait about 40 minutes for a replacement. There were other spa guests who also complained about the standard of food too.
When we arrived we were told that our treatment times had been changed due to staffing issues. Obviously that can’t be helped and it seemed like the staff did everything they could to prevent the changes. We received a goody bag as an apology.
There was 5 of us in our group and 4 of us had nice massages with pleasant therapists who made us feel comfortable. Unfortunately, one of our group had a massage which wasn’t up to a standard we expected. I understand that all massages are all individual but it was sub standard. First of all, the therapist didn’t tell her name or speak to her client about any allergies or problem areas she has. The therapist also didn’t ask if the pressure was ok and made her client to feel uncomfortable during the whole process. We will write to the spa directly about this to ensure the therapist can improve her standard of work.
The spa area it self was clean but we were so disappointed with the lack of space and chairs around the pool area. We couldn’t sit down and we were stood around for a long time. The relaxation room was also disappointing because it lacked space. It only had 6 beds in and a couple of chairs, which isn't sufficient enough for the amount of people wanting to use it. It was far too hot in there. Not comfortable at all.
I would not recommend this spa for groups of people wanting to relax together. It is definitely not equipped for lots of groups which it is advertised for.
Booked 3x 30 minutes of treatments with our package but I ended up with an extra 20 mins as there was a little miscommunication.
I can honestly say I have had 1 of the best back massages as my therapist Kayley listen too what I wanted a very light massage and delievered this too perfection.
I hadn't been before and the receptionist at the spa didn't offer to show me around, ask me why I was there, did I have any questions. I had to wait for 20 minutes for directions to the restaurant for lunch. The treatments were lovely as was the therapist. The place seems very quiet and clinical, I won't be returning.
We had 3 x 30 minute treatments each and how fab they were. Although therapists were agency they were lovely, polite and really goo. Treatments were top class. Spa facilities-ample loungers around the pool. Good size and very comfortable relaxation room-my only criticism is that people thought it ok to have full on loud conversations-maybe an additional sign in the door to say relaxation and quiet area or words to that effect? Therefore st times it was very noisy in there making reading and chilling impossible. No jacuzzi but generally really good.
We shall had a 2 night spa break and would highly recommend this hotel.
Not the best spa- no jacuzzi- someone was scrubbing the floor when we were trying to relax
Not much food left and had been left out
Not good value for money
The spa was very very busy, to the point where we could'nt even get beds for everyone which was very disappointing when we had paid for a spa day experience. The steam room was also out of order which we were not informed of, and the service at lunch was very slow with regards to ordering drinks.
The treatments themselves were fantastic but we felt a bit let down overall.
This is now my 3rd visit to this spa. I always choose here, I have been to other spas, but this one never disappoints. The therapist Sharon was AMAZING, I will be requesting her again. The restaurant manager was so attentative and funny. The food was awesome. The only down side was the steam room was out of order for maintenance but it didn't hamper our day. Will be returning again for sure. Thanks
I was bought this spa day for my birthday by my children. I enjoyed the day as my children purchased 2 tickets so I could take my daughter-in-law. I thought the staff were helpful and my treatment was superb. However there were not enough beds for every guest, luckily we got there early so we had a bed each. One guest was lying on a float on the ground. I wouldn't have been happy if I was her. I was disappointed that the steam room was not working as this is my favourite, preferring this to the sauna room. The pool was cold. The changing room was very small. I was astonished to see the cleaner, cleaning around the pool side and in between our beds whilst we were lying on them, not appropriate when you're meant to be relaxing. The restaurant was ok, the food average, but staff extremely nice. There was a sign up to say you could ask for samples of products used on you, I asked and was told they never had samples and did not know about any sign which I thought was not good. I informed the therapist where the sign was and said if this wasn't accurate and samples were never given out to take the sign down. Shame as I have since come home and will buy the products from a store and they lost out as would have bought on that day. Overall we had a good time as we don't spend much time together usually, so that was nice.
Spa area needs updating . Changing rooms too small . Broken lockers . Not enough loungers . We had to share loungers between the 4 of us . Gowns old and tatty . Steam room out of order . However staff very professional and treatments were excellent . Shame whole relaxation areas at spa were poor .
The spa manager was very helpful and full of useful knowledge. The spa area was lovely and relaxing and the treatments are amazing. Unfortunately this was way over booked for the day and left us feeling more stressed than we were when we arrived. There were not enough lockers, seating and food.
Changing rooms are very small and look quite shabby, for the quality of the hotel. Not enough beds around the pool as it was very busy and the pool is very small for the amount of guests who were there. It did seem quite over booked. The sinks in the changing rooms were blocked and the steam room really didn’t smell great - quite a dirty smell. The experience shower was quite erratic and disappointing that there wasn’t a hot tub. The staff and treatments were brilliant but facilities let the experience down.
Treatments were amazing and relaxation rooms lovely, the sauna was broken for a bit which only left the steam room for use .Robes were old and could do with replacing .
I booked Norton Park for a relaxing day off work after a particularly busy period. Was disappointed to experience kids swimming lessons in the pool. Thought ok, for an hour its not so bad - ended up being back to back lessons for three hours which was pretty distracting.
I understand hotels need to offer these services - just don't then price/market yourself as a relaxing spa environment as you really can't do both.
Also expected a 60 minute treatment, which is what my booking said, but apparently these are only 45 minutes. Another disappointment. Staff at check-in desk (two different ones) were also quite standoff-ish and got details wrong as once I was finally taken into the treatment room, I had to switch rooms and therapists part way through the experience. No fault of my therapist - both were very apologetic and clearly felt embarrassed - but again, not the experience I was expecting.
Nice enough layout, but probably wouldn't return.
The spa facilities were fantastic and clean. Our aromatherapy massage with the hot stones was amazing! Personally for my first experience with Jo was awesome, the whole just flew by and felt really relaxed! I recommend this place to visit to recharge their batteries and enjoy some pampering!
Myself and two sisters took our 83 year old Mum as Christmas present we all had a great day at Norton Park. Staff were all welcoming and helpful. Enjoyed the facilities which were clean and each had a super 60 min treatment. Wonderful selection of food from the buffet for lunch. Thank you for a lovely day will definitely visit again.
The actual spa day was very relaxing. Mum and I spent time reading, sleeping and having treatments, on this occasion we decided not to swim.
The therapist was a lovely lady and gave the best treatments I’ve ever had!!
However, there were a few things that let the spa down. The greeting from reception wasn’t great, not very professional or friendly. We weren’t given our treatment questionnaires which meant our treatments were delayed and the poor therapist was rushed.
When we sat down for our light lunch no-one explained how it worked, whether it was buffet or table service. The water had ran out. Little attention to detail which made for a disappointing experience.
We learnt that from that day (the evening) the pool was closing for weeks but there were no signs informing clients of this.
Hardly any lockers worked in the changing area, lots were hanging off their hinges.
When we left after our day we barely got a goodbye from reception which was very, very poor.
So whilst our actual spa experience was good and the treatments were amazing the rest of it was a disappointment.
Spa facilities was up to good standards. We found a staff very helpful. My only comment would be the change rooms were rather small for the amount of people that use it.
Absolutely perfect. Had 2 different treatments and Kaylee was amazing. She made me feel comfortable and I really enjoyed the experience. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks so much.
Excellent day! Ruth provided the best massage I have ever had and was a very friendly, approachable lady.
The lunch was superb with a big range to choose from. Loved the macaroni cheese and my husband loved the scampi.
Would have liked normal tea instead of just fruit, flavoured teas and it would gave been nice to have had a coffee after our meal.
Otherwise a perfect day. Thank you.
This was certainly a five star experience, special mention for the two masseurs Hannah and Ruth who delivered a relaxing massage. Stacey on the Spa reception was extremely helpful as was the Spa manageress whose name we didn’t get. My wife unfortunately lost her earrings which were quickly found by Bishnu and Britney so big thanks to them. This is our second visit and won’t be our last, the only slight negative was timing of massages to coincide with the lunch break, this was sorted by the Spa manageress, a very nice lady who put the customers needs first. The Spa facilities were excellent, one of the best I’ve been to well worth a visit.
The changing room was very cramped. The lunch was very basic. Had you been a vegetarian there was no protein on offer. This was bought as a gift. I would not rebook.
Spa staff were friendly but they need more people on reception. They were attentive and helpful and really good humoured and understanding when we were a bit late. Couldn’t fault them. Very nice treatment in lovely big rooms. My only gripes are people reserving loungers and not seeing them all day and the pool surround needs a good clean - it with black mould in places. I would definitley use this spa again though.
We were very happy with our relaxing treatments. The pool was very busy so it was difficult to find somewhere to sit. Sauna and steam room were great with a fancy rain shower and ice fountain just outside. The only thing missing is a jacuzzi! The changing facilities are a bit cramped and the hotel advises that you get changed in your room. The shower in the changing room needs a refurb. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our spa break which was very relaxing and good value for money.
My girlfriend loved her birthday trip to the spa and never having been to one before I was also very impressed. Lovely staff and great lunch. Treatments were prefect
Upgraded to bridal suite as it was our honeymoon. Lovely old Manor House and our room was very comfortable. Very friendly staff on reception and in the bar/ restaurant areas.
Although the weather was miserable, we had a wonderful two night stay 😁
The hotel is basic but enough. When arriving one of the group couldn’t get their drink as none of the staff could get into the cellar.
The dinner menu was lacking and the food was ok. Breakfast was nice.
Most staff in the hotel were very nice.
Lovely clean room, friendly staff. Only downside was expensive price of the food which wasn’t of great quality. Felt the overall package was not value for money, would not pay the same rate to return.
We had a fabulous time at this hotel. We were a group of 14 women who go to spa hotel breaks every year. This was the best experience to date. The staff were attentive, friendly and so very helpful. They were responsive to our needs and nothing was too much trouble.
The small downsides - tired furniture in the bedrooms and the menus for lunch and dinner were quite similar with regards to options for vegetarians. Despite this every attempt was made to cater for the people who could not eat gluten and the kitchen even fried the chips in different oil. The restaurant staff put tables together for us at breakfast without any complaining so that we could all sit together. We managed to get a late check out as our treatments at the spa were for the following day.
THis is one place that we would definitely go to next year.
Simply wonderful 2 night stay. Refreshing, welcoming and indulging.
Best of all was the restaurant newly promoted supervisor Connor. Example of such excellent customer service that includes patience and engaging.
No jacuzzi but overall 9/10
Food was standard. Could of been better for money paid. Staff didn’t really listen as book time for evening meal and then got told a different one.
Room walls are very thin and could here everything next door. At midnight not impressed.
The rooms are very nice and comfortable. Spacious and clean. We had a little issue with the food in the restaurant but they were extremely good at solving it
The room was well stocked with towels, toiletries, tea making facilities etc... it just wasn't very clean. The shelving in the wardrobe was dusty enough to be able to write your name in it and there was a large cobweb in the far corner above the desk.
Staff let this hotel down. The resturant staff didnt seem to have any idea what was going on. Made drinks that were wrong, didnt have any idea what we had included in package and actually asked us! Left us waiting without being spoken to and ignored which was very awkward. No greetings or 'hello' in the morning for breakfast.
The breakfast was very disapointing and cold. Worst we have had staying in a hotel.
The room was spacious and very clean. Had tea and coffee making facilities and plenty of wardrobe space. Dinner was delicious and breakfast was nice too. Restaurant and bar staff were very friendly and helpful.
We had a lovely overnight spa break, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, The treatments were extremely high quality and the dinner in the restaurant in the evening was delicious!
Fabulous spa break. Dinner included was a set 3 course menu (£28) with lots of choice. I had smoked salmon starter and sea bass. It was delicious and very generous portions. The room was modern and very clean. Breakfast was once again delicious with everything you could want. Restaurant staff were great. The Spa treatments were amazing and there was a relaxation room after with beds. Lunch exceeded our expectations in terms of choice. The spa area was fairly small but adequate for a few hours relaxation around the pool with sauna and steam room. Value for money was incredible, highly recommend!
Our room was clean and comfortable. Good sized tv. Fridge and tea/coffee making facilities.
The staff are well presented and really helpful, friendly, attentive and courteous.
Restaurant although busy was great.menu choices for dinner were varied and the food was delicious. Breakfast, buffet style-good choice of hot and cold. Lunch buffet style-again hot and cold and really lovely.
Beautiful setting with plenty of outdoor spaces. Lovely barn for weddings. Will definitely be returning.
A group of 6 of us planned this break many months ago as we are all very busy mum's who work hard.
On our arrival we planned to eat in the restaurant which was booked and was a part of our spa deal. Once we had all arrived and were ready to go to the table , we were told that it was full and we would have to eat in the bar area. Not a great start but we went with it and was given a £15 allowance each. Once we had ordered the meals and ate them it was time to book into our rooms. We didn't have a pudding as we only as a group had £3 left as some of the meals were over £15 I think.
The rooms were clean and tidy and my only concern was the fact that there was no drinking water in the rooms and as a diabetic I drink all through the night and don't drink bathroom tap water as in the past have been unwell.
The pool and spa area was clean and the staff were lovely, but they were far to busy and the timings were limited. The treatments were excellent and the pool was very good. A really shame there was no hot tub but the steam room was used by some of our group.
The evening meal was included in our deal and was excellent, the young staff were very good and we had a lovely delicious meal.
Over all this was a very nice weekend and we would all love to visit again later in the year.
Happy to receive any special deals that are available. Thank you Paula and Kim
Very good food . Staff professional. Large hotel , facilities spread out . Spa area needs some updating . Not enough loungers . Steam room out of order
The room was nice. The location is perfect for a relaxing break. ALL the Staff are so friendly and ready to help. The food was hit and miss,we expected better because of the rating. But overall me and my sister had a great time. We would go back.
It was the best hotel do far for me. Everything was just great. Food was very tasty, room very clean and quite a d the treatments just amazing. Definately will come back!
Really relaxing time, staff really helpful dinner service fairly slow on first night - Daisy in the restaurant real asset as she was professional and compared to the others was apologetic and got our deserts.
One night stay for a spa weekend! The room was clean, nice decor and cosy. The staff were friendly and attentive and I could not fault, especially Rose who served us at lunch and at breakfast!
We had a lovely stay. It's a large hotel so you're not always going to be near reception and may have to walk a way to get to your room. If you are not mobile then you need to advise the hotel in advance to avoid being far from reception. The hotel has two sections near the spa which you walk through that are covered but are an outdoor walkway. The restaurant had trouble dealing with all the guests at breakfast as it seemed short staffed. Other than that we had a great stay. The facilities are clean and staff are very friendly.
On arrival to the hotel we were greeted very politely.
Staff very friendly and helpful and room was very clean and tidy.
Only one miner faults guest towels in the bathroom there was only one. The others where in the wardrobe, which we’re not told about.
Spa facilities were excellent apart from changing rooms being too small. Staff very helpful and like the way they look after you. All in all a very good stay. 😎👍
All staff were attentive and keen to help. Room was lovely and clean, food was tasty and plentiful and it was a lovely restful weekend. Will definitely stay there again.
Hotel is very nicely situated in acres of land, rooms are largely comfortable and well equipped but the restaurant and bars and awful. The food is ok but the service is shocking and the poor staff are untrained and inexperienced. All the empty spaces in the hotel have been used as storage (conservatory for example), the tables are never cleared and no one can seem to get what you ask for first time. Huge room for improvement.
Rooms are very comfortable with everything you need for a short stay. The staff are welcoming and do their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The food both in the bar and the restaurant was excellent although breakfast was a bit of a challenge given the high number of guests. The hotel is spread out and our room was quite some distance from reception/bar/restaurant. This was not a problem at all for us but anyone with mobility issues should ask for a more central room. We found the spa break package to be excellent value for money. Would definitely do it again.
