Surrounded by 12 acres of garden and grounds, just a few minutes from the historic town of St Albans in Hertfordshire, the spa at Sopwell House resides in a Georgian shell with newly renovated interiors that combine Japanese elements with warm, natural materials. Facilities include a heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, starlit steam room, glass-fronted sauna, heated mosaic seat, spa garden and relaxation areas. For those who wish to get a little more active there is both a cardio gym and weights gym as well as a state-of-the-art studio offering a range of classes such as Zumba, Pilates, and spinning.
Continuing the luxury theme, their range of treatments uses ESPA, Clarins and Jessica products in a comprehensive array of holistic facials, massages, scrubs, wraps, pre-natal treatments, finishing touches and specialist offerings such as Hopi ear candling and reflexology. Treatments are performed in 14 newly refurbished treatment rooms, all with a tablet and music play list for you to select from.

The 129 stylish and contemporary bedrooms, suites and apartments are all furnished in a contemporary style and include such luxuries as large flat screen TV’s with Sky HD and complimentary WiFi.
As you might expect from a noble home, there are a couple of options when it comes to dining – The Restaurant is a contemporary fine dining experience, while the Brasserie is a more relaxed setting offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For lighter options The Conservatory is open throughout the day, and afternoon tea is served in the sumptuous Cocktail Lounge Library that’s also well suited to a post dinner drink or an aperitif such as the signature Mountbatten Cocktail.
