Best Known For.....
Being a city chic spa haven in the city with some of the best food around. We suggest having tea in a hanging pod in the relaxation room while trying to remember why you didn’t visit sooner, followed by dinner at Adam Reid at The French in the evening.
Most Loved For.....
Couples for the seductive, hedonistic vibe that such glamour invokes, as well as small groups of friends celebrating special occasions.
The scope of facilities, combined with the attention to detail and level of luxury, as well as the fusion of historic grandeur and modern style, make it unique and exceptional as a hotel spa experience.
Exceptional Spa Feature
All the little details - from the duvets on the relaxation beds to the big, beautiful hanging cocoons, that can fit up to two people at once, to doze off in.
Spa & Leisure
The spa is for adults only, although the pool allows children at very limited times. It is underground, and has been carefully designed. You arrive through the spa reception where there is a small seating area for lunch or afternoon tea in your robe. There’s a two story gym and a swimming pool, with space to relax, four thermal areas and sleep chambers.
The treatment and relaxation areas are separate to the facilities and you can only use them if you’re having a treatment. It feels superbly cosy with duvets on the relaxation beds. In the middle of relaxation room there are big, beautiful hanging basket beds to doze off in. On another side there are separate booths that can be closed off and are great for groups as once you close the doors it’s soundproof so you’re not disturbing anyone else. Of the eight treatment rooms, two are double rooms – a real comfy choice for couples. The product houses used are ESPA, 3D SkinTech, and Jessica Nails, and a wide range of treatments are available for guests including treatments for two in the rasul.
Hotel & Accommodation
The centre of Manchester is home to one of the most exceptional city spa hotels in the UK - The Spa at The Midland. An adult-only hotel, it is everything a modern spa hotel should be, encased in a historic building that has played host to kings, queens, prime ministers and rock stars alike. Plush modern style meets historic architecture beautifully in the rooms and suites. High ceilings and big windows give a wonderful sense of space, while soft finishings are a sea of jewel tones and textured fabrics. There are three room types and it all makes you feel wonderfully at home complete with ESPA toiletries, tea and coffee facilities and crisp bathrobes and slippers in Superior Rooms and Suites.
Dining at the hotel is an experience, designed like a whole house so you walk through a really pretty garden with outdoor seating. Then inside the different areas are decorated like a living room, a library a kitchen area and so forth. The hotel’s nationally acclaimed restaurant, Adam Reid at The French, under the careful guidance of Chef Patron Adam Reid, who was a winner on the BBC's Great British Menu 2016, has four AA Rosettes amongst other awards, was ranked 13th in the Good Food Guide 2019 Best Restaurants in the UK, was named Restaurant of the Year and Premium Fine Dining Venue of the Year at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards 2018. Meanwhile Mr Cooper’s, which combines modern touches with the history and heritage of Mr Thomas Cooper, whose house and famous gardens occupied the site in 1819. Its menus change seasonally and it too has two AA Rosettes.
