    Hotel Spa Venue

The hotel is very much about city glamour, but between the accommodation and the spa it embraces two very different and entirely exceptional qualities. Meanwhile, the spa is the only Guerlain spa in the UK, bringing a little bit of Paris to a Scottish mini break.

Spa & Leisure

An award-winning, world class spa at the heart of this historic hotel, the Guerlain Spa is the only one of its kind in the UK. Bringing a touch of Paris to Edinburgh, the spa is a light and tranquil haven in the heart of the hotel. It is all white walls and French glamour, bringing custom built details such as the Guerlain cabins into the spa space to deliver a little Champs-Élysées prestige. Facilities include two gyms, a pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, but it is the treatments that really set it apart.

Using methods and products from the esteemed L'Institut Guerlain, you are absorbed into a world that all begins with a personalised fragrance journey. Beauty coaches perform a systematic skincare analysis and work with you to determine whether the experience should be relaxing or revitalising. They then source a personalised Guerlain fragrance for you, which is sprayed on your robe and bed linen, and used in your relaxing foot bath to mark the beginning of your spa journey. It is an entirely unique touch which helps you to really embrace the whole experience and feel transformed at the end of your spa treatments.

Hotel & Accommodation

Above what was once a grand Victorian railway, Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian has been a part of Edinburgh’s architectural character since 1903. Today it remains a landmark in the city, a historic icon on Edinburgh’s famous Princes Street. Known locally as the ‘Caley’, the hotel is within walking distance of Edinburgh Castle. Within its carefully restored walls it represents modern luxury alongside historic grandeur with many of its original features intact, including ornate columns and grand staircases.

The hotel’s two restaurants comprise an iconic fine dining restaurant, The Pompadour, and the more relaxed Grazing by Mark Greenaway. The Pompadour, one of Scotland’s most magnificent dining rooms, is known for stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and exquisite hand-painted wall panels which date back to 1925. Grazing by Mark Greenaway, created by the celebrated Edinburgh chef, offers a menu which reflects the laidback ‘grazing’ concept and showcases a mix of traditional, modern and sharing plates, always incorporating locally sourced ingredients with unique concept dishes created by Mark.

Formerly the station concourse and ticket office, Peacock Alley represents the historic heart of The Caley, and is the perfect location for traditional afternoon tea, or elegant evening drinks.
