A four star venue with 254 rooms and a view across the golf course, one of the things that is most striking about the hotel is the scale of it – ceilings are high, rooms are big and it has the appearance of a modern building in the style of a rather grand manor house.
When it comes to food, head to the Silverstone Bar (named for the hotel’s proximity of the race circuit next door) for a drink. Astons Restaurant blends classic and contemporary cuisine with just a dash of continental inspiration, complemented by a selection of wines from around the globe, and The Spa Terrace Café serves light meals and non-alcoholic drinks throughout the day.

Had a lovely time with a group of friends, facilities and treatments were fabulous. Advertised spa day was actually only a spa morning, although due to Covid lots of space due to limited numbers. Food very nice, but very small portions in Bento box. Booked at least 6 weeks before visit, then although I had been asking, no more communication until less than 48 hrs before spa visit, it was then too rushed as the organiser to obtain the groups food choices, medical details and pass on details about everyone's schedule. Great venue, but communication before visit was inadequate.
I was extremely disappointed in the lack of control over nos. especially in these worrying times. Although we had timings no one was monitoring these. We presumed we would have nominated beds in the pool area which would be allocated. The 2 two people rule in one of Jacuzzis was not adhered to. The automatic exit door to the bar area was broken and you had to prise it open with your hands!!! Again no monitoring in the Heat and Ice Area. Hydro Pool said max 10 at one stage there were 14 so couldn't use all the jet areas etc. Considering we had to pay a lot more money due to the package change we were rather disappointed. At present times I would not be recommending this spa.
For the brunch you only got water and had to pay extra for a cup of tea unbelievable.
Hotel however was lovely and the rooms amazing
Unfortunately we were met by a very frosty receptionist, who immediately spoilt the start of the spa day. She was extremely rude not at all inviting. We had filled out the form online prior to our stay and asked for a tour of the spa. That was not given and just a brief guide from the desk where the amenities were. We were told to go upstairs for our treatment, but we're not advised there was a further reception to go to up there. And after all of the literature explaining that key towel and robe must be handed in to reception at the end of the day, otherwise you will be fined. I handed it towards receptionist who gave me the same blank expression, so I asked was that not the procedure? No response just took from my hands. However on a positive note the masseur/ Beauty Technician was absolutely amazing. Shame the reception spoilt my experience.
We enjoyed the spa, with two main spa areas, the pool and the ice room, you didn't feel like the place was as full as it obviously was. Might be worth asking for a specific lunch time as some people were allocated 2.30 which wouldn't have suited us. My included treatment was not really as described so I haven't given 5 stars, I presumed I had misread it but looking back it was nothing like the description! I was relaxing but wouldn't have chosen it. Loved the ice room, and the pool area was very nice and peaceful, and there are two rooms hidden away where you can chill out. The beds by the pool look like they are all taken, but half of them are set out with a sheet on for comfort so don't be fooled! Location wise it was perfect for us so chances are we will return.
Whittlebury Hall was recommended to us by family and friends, it didn’t disappoint! The facilities were great but it was extremely busy on the day we went and unfortunately the treatments we booked (including an additional facial) felt impersonal. The treatments themselves were high quality but the therapists did not seem interested in you as a person with very little interaction. I was interested in purchasing a product from the facial range but was not given the names used after the treatment. When I enquired in the waiting area, the staff member wasn’t at all helpful and sent me to the booking station to enquire, needless to say, I didn’t bother!
Overall I would recommend Whittlebury Hall, I would prefer it if it wasn’t so busy but I thought it was extremely good value for money.
Lovely spa and amazing treatment! The only downside was a particular staff member who I had a treatment with who came across slightly rude but apart from that I had a lovely time
Lovely Spa and able to join exercise classes the instructor was really nice put you at ease all the staff were friendly and helpful. A great break highly recommend.
Spa breaks were very helpful as we had to cancel our trip due to unforeseen circumstances and they were very understanding and patient when finding an alternative date. The staff at Whittlebury were friendly and professional and the venue a dream of relaxation. Did not want to leave at the end of the day.
We booked the Ultimate Retreat package and it was fab! Excellent customer services, attentive staff, buffet lunch had a huge spread of hot and cold food. Massage and facial was so relaxing I almost fell asleep. The whisper chill out zone is cozy and comfy, especially the waterbeds. Great value for money - will book another spa weekend here again
Would have preferred fluffy robes especially as you go out to cold to get to dining room. Missed the home cooked shortbread that should have been included with the hot drinks we ordered
Lovely pool, though never enough loungers. The heat and ice experience is good fun. It would have been good if it had been made more clear that one needs to keep one's swimming/spa gear separate from one's suitcase, as there is a four hour gap between arriving and having access to one's hotel room.
I took my friend for her 'big birthday' and loved it. I knocked a star off as we did not like the gowns, as once you were wet they did not hold the dampness very well and we were quite chilly eating our lovely buffet lunch. But loved the spa it was so nicely spread out you did not feel on top of each other. Will go again for sure. The treatments were excellent.
One of the best spa’s I have been to. Treatments were great! So many facilities everyone was so helpful was the most relaxing experience can’t wait to return
The spa experience was fantastic. The treatment itself was fab. Nice and relaxing. There were loads of spa facilities that you could choose. My only disappointment was there were too many people there. Some of the facilities like the water beds and the relaxing lounge were always full. Would be good to have a specific times limit for other occupants to experience these facilities too
A thoroughly restful and enjoyable day. Everyone was very helpful and the lunch was excellent - good choice and very tasty. Ideally it could have been hotter.
I recommend this to anyone to recharge their batteries
Have been to Whittlebury before, but our first overnight stay. Must admit it was a bit like a conveyor belt... absolutely packed with a constant stream of arrivals- what was meant to be a relaxing experience really wasn’t in the end because of the huge volume of guests and the overcrowding of each area. Obviously a very good business plan, but didn’t meet our expectations of a relaxing weekend.
Only had one treatment but the therapist Helen was excellent. Back shoilder and head massage. Really felt more relaxed after.
Loved the dark room concept where you could have a rest in the middle of the day. Great offers which we took advantage of. Bought an Espa large item and got a free voucher for a spa day.
My friend and I were scheduled in at different times of the day for our treatment but the staff were more than accommodating and changed the times so we could go at the same time. Wasn't clear or sure why we weren't booked in at closer times when we made the booking?
The lunch was included in the spa package and although value for money the food choices could be improved. Especially as they Are competing with other spa days/nights in the area.
Would definitely come back again.
Everything was wonderful except for issue in leisure club bar mentioned under accommodation. It was not the fault of the spa team but the attitude of the bar person could have been better.
Came for the 'ultimate retreat' i thoroughly enjoyed my massage and facial,my therapist, laura was great.very professional and we will be using the spa and treatments on our next visit
treatments were amazing, the facilities at times get over crowded and you cant always use everything. Maybe a few bookings a day might help, for a complete relaxing time and use of everything.
Six of us went all booked in for the same 40 min treatment. There was inconsistencies from 25 mins to 40 mins and the treatments varied in quality. Very disappointing.
This was my first experience of a spa hotel, previously I have only had spa treatments on board cruise ships. I was delighted by the variety and number of facilities and particularly loved the crystal steam and ice rooms and the floor jets in the pool (The latter even beats spiky balls Pilates exercises!). My head and shoulder massage was superb. The quality of the food and attention shown by all your employees was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend Whittlebury Hall to anyone. I’ll be back 😊
We enjoyed our spa day, although there wasn't a selection of treatments we could of chosen from, we were told there was only 1 treatment we could have, which was a bit disappointing.
On arrival we were given our schedule for our treatments, I was with my daughter on this spa break. My treatment was 3pm and my daughters 5pm, the treatments were 80 mins long and dinner was booked for 7:30 so i was a bit annoyed that our treatments were not at the same time and also there would have been no time for my daughter to experience the relaxation rooms after her treatment had finished. We did manage to get this changed so all worked out in the end. My therapist was a lovely lady called Kasia, this was probably the best massage and facial I have had. The other facilities were great and overall we had a very relaxing day.
Poor. Miscommunication between whittlebury and the spa meant that we didn’t get the treatments we paid for. We were a party of four and the spa could only offer a treatment to one of us and that wasn’t the treatment we had paid for...we wasn’t shown around the spa even though we requested it so we had no idea what was to offer or where anything was.
The pool was shallow through out and the chlorine was overpowering, couldn’t breath because of the smell and it stung your eyes if you tried to swim! Oh and not enough beds around the pool to accommodate all guests if you could put up with the overpowering smell of the chlorine. .
Spa nice. Quite expensive for drink and food though.
Treatments from the other members of the party reported that they were good. My treatment was nice but unfortunately the therapist did not stop talking through the whole 50 minutes so hard to actually relax. Light pressure is actually hard pressure as well!
Spa itself is good. Asked for a tour and never received one so was in aware of where to go, had to ask a lot.
Overall would probably not go again as you can get better value for money elsewhere.
The spa facilities was the best I have been to yet! The heat and ice area had everything and more than you would expect..although it was busy for a weekend it was comfortable for everyone as there was so many facilities to use that didn't feel we were waiting around for anything!
The health spa area was just the same and was beautifully designed!
We had the holistic haven treatment by the team and it was ever so relaxing and enjoyable that I feel asleep!
All in all we arrived, checked in smoothly, went down to spa, enjoyed the facilities, was seated for third seating for lunch and was perfect as we then had some more time to wind down before our treatment which was at 4.15pm!
After our treatment we then spent the final hours in the spa till closing to then have dinner at 9pm! Timing and everything was go a well organised and programmed plan! Thanks for making our experience truly fantastic...cant wait to come back again!
Had to wait 40 mins in changing rooms for towel and dressing gown as didn't have any spare from house keeping. We booked to have a facial, and was told they had me down for back massage.
Same with my friend. Her therapist couldn't do facial so she had to have back massage. Luckily my therapist changed her products so I could get a facial.
Utterly impersonal. Like a spa factory. I asked for a tour but didn’t get one. No one explained where to wait for treatments. I was back and forth asking questions most of the day. My massage and facial were great but that was the only bit I was happy to have paid for. Will never be visiting again
The Spa completely messed up our booking and no-one seemed to want to take ownership or responsibility for this, therefore it was left up to me to sort this out on what should have been my celebration day. Came across as really unprofessional.
We had the 50 minute relax and restore full body massage. We requested a couples massage at booking, but it was booked as seperate times and areas of the spa. The buffet lunch should have been a higher standard judging by the cost of the day, but was edible. Spa was noce and clean and smelled nice. Staff were all pleasant.
I enjoyed the treatments and the experience at this lovely place. it’s a little too crowded to really relax and people frequently ignore the signs to keep the noise down in areas dedicated to chilling out (near the spa pool). The lady at check in is polite, helpful and cheerful despite there only ever being one person to check in all spa day guests... there were 26 in the queue. I experience the same thing every time I visit; the staff who actually seat you or serve you are really polite once they get round to you....but I find myself being ignored despite the fact they clearly know you’re right in front of them - this happened at the spa reception bar and the restaurant. I think the facilities are great, the treatments excellent and the service good, but it can be let down by some members of staff appearing not to understand just how negative an impact it can have when they appear dismissive. 7/10 but could easily improve with a little more customer focus
unfortunately, receptionist on booking in wasn't very friendly, as other say it is in need for maintenance, far to busy, the treatment was very good, all the rest let it down i would not rush to go back here or recommend it far to much money for what you got.
Excellent !!! Treatments were one of the best we’ve ever had... although I will say the second time going to the spa in the hydropool it makes my eyes burn!! Thought it was a one off but not the case.
Spa treatments were lovely. Food was good. Staff were helpful. Only complaint was that it was a bit tatty and broken in places eg. Jacuzzi in leisure section, paintwork
I have visited the spa many times before and have always had an amazing time, sadly that was not the case this time. In spa was very very busy and seemed well overbooked, you felt like you had nowhere to go as all parts of the spa were full up, our group of four had to spilt up to even try use anything. We had to ask repeatedly for the drinking water to be topped and so did other guests. They have a ice facial table that constantly kept running out of flannels and ice, again we and other guest had to ask for it to be topped it after waiting 20mins we gave up. The spa used to have a clock inside but no longer does what sounds relaxing apart from you can’t relaxing when your constantly trying to find out the time and worrying your going to be late for a treatment or lunch. Speaking with other guest who had also been before we all the spa used to be so much better and a lot more attention to detail. I would like to say dispire this my treatments were really good and the food as always was amazing! The staff still as friendly as before, I wouldn’t blame them they are clearly just being overworked with more demand. Sad to say I will need to find a new regular spa.
Need more staff at check in. Not really given full instructions on facilities. Would be nice to know times of treatments before you go, 2 of our party were late arriving due to traffic.
Water containers empty - had to ask twice before water was fillled up again. Health issue.
One of the steam rooms not working properly.
Far too many people for the facilities. Round the pool nowhere to lie as people had left towels on the beds .
It was a lovely day we'll deserved relaxation spa, staff were friendly and polite. Spa was clean and only one spa pool out of use. Food was OK very mix and match
Unfortunately we wasnt able to use the fire and Ice pool as it was out of service! We were ment to have a voucher for the inconvience but wasn't given one. There were a few complaints we had to make during our stay such as guest was missing of our group and was left waiting for her treatment for over an hour! We also didn't get a tour around the spa which we was ment too,we had a lovely time but it was a shame that many mistakes were made.
Check in was confusing and busy. There was a lack of information on where we were meant to go for various bits of the day such as lunch. Staff were all friendly but the spa was busy to the point we felt like we were on a conveyor belt. Treatments and therapists were excellent. Environment in the spa not that relaxing as it was loud and too many people on phones.
Spa was very busy. Changing room packed some persons were sitting waiting for lockers. Had to wait for a lot of the things eg foot spa jacuzzi pool & trepidation tables due to amount of people. Sauna not working. Shower hardly had any water coming out. Transferred to another one water trickled out. Need updating. Would’ve been good to have been given a tour or map as only stumbled across relaxation room last minute. Had to queue at buffet for some time as busy. Food was good. Best treatment I’ve ever had.
The spa is brilliant with a lot of space and a variety of rooms to relax in. The price of teas and coffees was reasonable. Although I would avoid returning on a Saturday as it always felt like a rush to get a lounger by the pool and the changing rooms were packed! A little embarrassing changing in an open room with no room to bend down! I felt the spa booked too many people in for the day.
It has been one if the best spas I’ve visited though and I will return just not on a Saturday!
Dear Sir / Madam
Some of the saunas was out of use, would be nice if at the spa check-in we already getting this info … not by surprise when we are standing front of the close doors...
Otherwise we had an excellent time, very lovely and helpful staff and our massage therapist Alicia was really good, we all enjoyed very much our treatment.
Kindest regards
Alda Somloi
There was a lot of people at the spa not the normal spa experience I am used to. A lack of places to relax as people left the towel in the bed around the pool when they went for lunch. The quite area was not quiet at all as Therapists and the guy collecting the towels are constantly walking about.
As a group package many of us had the same treatments. Of course we discussed them afterwards there were lots of differences between each one eg, some receive face and head massages during there body massage and some didn’t.
Was ok. Too busy so there's no real personal touch. Every member of staff just seemed busy. Food was edible. It's a big spa with loads of facilities. But if you look closely it's alot of the same thing.
Expected more for the price.
The only problem with the hotel is the treatments itself. Maybe it was because it was the end of the day but they didn't put much effort into the treatment. My package basically included a dry brush all over body experience and rubbing some oil on me afterwards. My friends massage was basically like a pat/rub down which anyone off the street could do themselves. I would hate to pay full price for a massage or facial and have this treatment. The best bit after the treatment was lying down in the quiet room on water beds when it wasn't as busy, as the daytime had been.
The other of their facilities was brilliant such as the many saunas and steam room and large swimming pool, although it could have done with being a couple of degrees warmer.
As I am 5 months pregnant I cound not use most of the spa facilities however the water beds were lovely and warm and I had a lovely pregnancy back massage from a very pleasant lady called Fiona. Sadly soon after eating lunch I was violently ill and the reception staff dismissed this and said it was probably because of my pregnancy and tried to pin it on morning sickness which I found offensive as I have not suffered from morning sickness during my pregnancy. I continued to be sick for the next 24 hours. Although the hot food was lovely the salad items tasted oddly off and in hindsight I wish I had not touched it. I would use the spa again but definitely would not eat at Whittlebury Hall again!
Checking in and changing in the locker room was a bit of a scrum but once we were in our nice waffle gowns we began to relax. We both chose the facial as part of our package and were not disappointed. My therapist, Amina, was a delight and the whole experience was lovely using delicious ESPA products. I am now a convert.
The Heat and Ice experience was fun and enjoyable and we liked the pool and steam rooms too. We wished there had been more water beds available. The people who were using them didn't seem as though they were going to give them up any time soon and we didn't feel comfortable asking them (as a member of staff suggested).
As in the hotel, the room where we ate lunch was a bit dreary after the bright and pleasant surroundings of the spa area. No daylight either. I wonder why not.
It was lovely to have ESPA and Elemis products to try in the spa and also in the loos.
Having been to Whittlebury spa many times but i was a little disappointed with the place this visit. The number of spa steam rooms seem to have been reduced to three and not really steamy or warm, like they weren't working correctly. We where asked to use the changing rooms open for general public instead of those in the spa facility, these were very messy and not particularly clean. Maintenance work was being carried out whilst there, so areas cornered off and workmen walking about. The place was bursting full of people so having to queue to use facilites and very noisy. Overall not very relaxing time. On the plus side, massage treatment i had was very good and food was lovely!
The therapists were thorough and made sure they asked necessary question so you could get the most out of your treatment!! The facilities were incredible. The only thing we felt partially unsatisfied with was that the lunch didn’t meet the style of the spa stay, it felt odd eating stroganoff in your robe! We would have preferred something lighter or more along the lines of afternoon tea!
The spa allocation for treatments are not given to the main reception desk, so if you check in and go to your room to relax you will miss your treatment. The front desk don’t advise you to check in with the spa to get your treatment time immediately. So Communication was poor and the spa manager was rude and flustered instead of admitting the mistake. So that ruined the ambiance of the visit. Other than that the spa and lesuire facilities was great with plenty of choice and the massage was amazing would definitely go again.
The lady I had for a massage did not offer the different oils I could have had, also did not stop chatting and coughing all the way through my treatment, completely opposite to my friend who had quite a relaxing time which I would have loved to experienced as that's what I had paid for I thought!
Hotel is Beautiful lovely setting. Clean and decor pleasant. Reception staff friendly and efficient. Bar staff friendly and most of restaurant staff. Room decor nice fairly modern, a little tired in the bathroom. But overall good.
We found the hotel excellent in terms of staff courtesy, rooms, breakfast etc. The hotel seemed very large and a lot of people staying to use the spa, but with the exception of some noisy gaggles of spa ladies heading to bed later than us (and having a good long loud natter outside our door) it was not really noticeable, as everything is organised very well. I would mark the bar down as it seemed a bit soulless, we ate there as we didn't have dinner included and didn't fancy doubling the price of our stay with a la carte in the restaurant. The food was OK pub food but not good value for hotel prices.
we were not told of the treatment times and arrived just before 1.00pm for lunch. However,on arrival,we were told that lunch is at 2.30pm and the first treatment was at 12.30pm. Manager did rearrange the treatment due to the confusion. So it turned out alright in the end.
The hotel staff were efficient and friendly. The room was comfortable with an enormous bathroom which was equipped with shower, bath, bidet and a double vanity unit. The bed was very comfortable, we had a great night sleep.
Breakfast had every choice on offer that you could want, we selected the cooked breakfast option and although ‘buffet style’ it was hot and tasty.
Lovely hotel, lovely staff and very comfortable beds! Had a lovely relaxing couple of days Including a treatment and the use of all spa facilities, highly recommended!
The hotel itself was an excellent with numerous facilities, however had a really bad experience with the reception staff as they couldn’t get the gender right and use my first name as the last name causing all sorts of issues at the venue.
Very comfortable beds, lovely bathroom, all very clean. However, considering the huge length of the maze of corridors, we would have been reassured to see more Fire Exit signs.
It was a lovely hotel, but the walls were super thin and you could hear loud noises through the rooms I was in the hallway and could hear my friends in their room around the corner and they were just speaking in their normal voices, so would have been better if rooms were sound proof, I'd hate to think of the complaints I'd get if I had a crying child staying there with me
What a great experience I went on a girly weekend and had the best weekend ever so relaxing, felt at ease the whole experience was so enjoyable no stress would 100% return.
Would recommend the Astons restaurant.
A great hotel with fantastic staff and lovely food. I love the fact that the venue is within the centre of nowhere sway from the distraction from the main city area.
The hotel was clean and comfortable and a lovely atmosphere. You didn't feel it was too busy and the staff generally were helpful and friendly.
There is a water pressure problem in the hotel which meant we had to ask for a bottle of drinking water in the night for which we were told there was a charge. I mentioned the water pressure issue and the charge was waived.
Also on check in we're told the room wasn't ready until 4pm but 10mins later my friend arrived to check in and we were told our room was ready- not sure what was going on there?!
Loved the stay and was great value for money.
Will come back again for a spa overnight stay.
Accommodation was excellent; only reason for dropping one star was check in staff did not ask for details so could not add extras to room until we went back to sort this out which was not easy as we were on a spa break and had already put belongings in locker before we were told this. Attitude of bar person in leisure club could have been better. Otherwise everything was fine and we had a lovely stay 😁
This was my first trip to any spa other than limited experience on cruise ships. I found the whole experience extremely enjoyable, relaxing and welcoming.
The rooms were very comfortable and well-equipped. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Thank you.
We had a lovely stay, our room was lovely.
Our only disappointment was the check-in time, I rang in before we arrived, and was advised the check-in time to our room was at 12:30pm; only to be told on arrival it was between 2pm - 4pm, which we were very disappointed, and we were told to sort out what we wanted from our luggage, to then go on to the spa. We found this inconvenience to us, having to sort out our belongs in reception area. Wasn't happy, not good...
Check in was very efficient and reception staff were very welcoming and polite, our room was very nice and clean although we had an issue with our door which was resolved very quickly and our hair dryer didn't work. We had a package so had set menu for lunch and dinner which was quite nice, waiting staff were lovely. Overall we were very happy with the hotel
The hotel was charming and grand. Like a walk down memory lqne. Staff was courteus for most parts. The dinner service staff at Astons seemed overwhelmed and panicky. Brought the mood down. The wait for our food was really long. Took 40 mins to get our starters. Food was hit and miss. The lunch buffet at terrace cafe was lovely but dinner was lukewarm. Some dishes were good but some were a let down.
We had a lovely weekend apart from the hotel and the spas miscommunication. We were told to arrive from midday which we did. When we checked in we were given all info regarding the spa and allocated time slots for treatments. These had been made for the morning prior to our informed time of arrival... we travelled over an hour to stay here to experience the spa but were told there had been a mix up up from whittlebury to the spa and therefor we could not have the treatments I had paid for! The spa squeezed one of our party in for a facial but not the treatment that was agreed. The spa were apologetic and did offer us another day free of charge but needless to say this was the whole reason we travelled there. Very disappointing.
Check in was quick and easy
Could have done with more info on getting to our room , floor print out would be good as the place is pretty big isn’t it
Room was super , lovely comfy clean room plenty of room shame windows didn’t open a bit more but heyho
Restaurant good for breakfast lunch and dinner staff helpful and plenty of them too
Highly recommend this hotel
Travelled in a party of seven with one of our party being disabled. Asked for one double room to be disabled friendly. This was confirmed on email as well as on the telephone and confirmed with spa breaks. Arrived and we did not have a disabled room so this was quite stressful. After multiple confirmations from spa breaks and the hotel it was disappointing this wasn't the case.
Lovely triple room but no air con working in the room so was very hot and stuffy, especially with three of us in there. Fan was provided already when we checked in which was nice.
Staff friendly, happy to help. Lovely man fetched us a wheelchair when requested and helped us carry drinks. Nothing was too much trouble for them. My friend left her dress which has been mailed back to her. Brilliant customer service
We had an overnight stay here and I cannot comment at how beautiful the grounds were! The facilities within the hotel was perfect! We had a 2course lunch which was right up our street especially as they also catered for our halal needs. We had dinner included and although didn't need the full standard as lunch it was still a great meal!
The room facilities ticked every aspect of our requirement and we were even lucky to check in before we used the spa facilities. We will most definitely be returning!
Asked to be in 2x triple rooms or 3 X twin ended up in 3x doubles, which some of the girls were uncomfortable. Reception couldn't change as hotel was fully booked.
Room was unclean. Staff didn’t even ask how our stay was when we checked out. Nothing at all on fridge not even water! Safe in room was broken. No robes in room. Dated.
A very pleasant stay and obliging staff.
Quite a dark hotel, not much natural light.
Very good breakfast.
Dinner fair.My main meal consisted of only 3 pieces of beef and not very tender. Dessert had clearly been plated for a while. I was glad I wouldn't be washing the plate since the cooli was dried on so hard
Beautiful hotel - this is the second time we’ve stayed and the staff are great. Although we did have iron stains on the floor!
Food is excellent quality and worth the money. A Diet Coke however cost around £4
Our stay at the hotel was really lovely we enjoyed the break & had a wonderful time however a few things i'd like to mention would be that I booked this for my partners 40th Birthday & asked on at least 5-6 occasions both on booking via spabreaks & at the hotel that a little something be placed in our room / on his dessert plate however none of my requests where met which was very disappointing as would have added to his big / special birthday gift your Whittlebury. I'd also like to mention that we experienced a bit of a bad smell whilst in bed both nights (Room 105) we believe it to be coming from the waste pipe encased under the bed headboard so though it best to bring this up for future guest stays. Other than both points we have a wonderful spa break / stay at Whittlebury Hall so Thank-you
Food was really good and restaurant staff were very attentive. One of the staff members on reception wasn’t very pleasant especially when I mentioned about parking. Very busy, difficult to find parking had to walk a long way with baggage. Confusing on arrival to spa break on where to go, we walked back and forwards between spa, leisure and hotel. Hotel room was nice but our sleep was destroyed by a horrible noise like someone moving furniture. Don’t stay in room 241. Hotel was in nice setting but we were unaware of the building work going on. Was a bit disappointed as relaxing stay was spoilt by a few things but in general spa break was good value for money
I have visited the spa many times before but we decided for a change to stay over. Beautiful rooms and as always outstanding food. Friendly and helpful staff would highly recommend and stay again
Amazing place, lovely staff friendly and efficient. Room was beautiful, comfortable and had everything you needed spa facility were fabulous clean and hygienic friendly salon staff all in all a beautiful relaxing trip
The room was comfortable and clean. The view wasn’t great as we overlooked a storage area and other rooms. Check in staff were friendly. Restaurant and bar staff were good too. However they were clearly overworked with the number of guests which resulted in slow service at the evening meal.
My stay at the hotel was very comfortable and spacious. Buffet lunch and breakfast was brilliant.
The dinner was a little disappointing as my desert was dry and the waiter removed my plate just as I was taking my last bite. Got the impression they wanted to rush us though our courses.
This has not stopped me returning I will just not go for the set three course dinner package as the food options were not that impressive.
Dear Sir / Madam We had a great spa weekend in Whittlebury Hall, great value for money
Very good location, clean rooms, excellent food, at lunch and at breakfast we had lots of choices to choose from and very helpful and lovely bar and restaurant staff, comfortable beds
We got upgraded to have 3 courses of dinner as well, which made us really happy especially my friend who’s 40’s Bday we celebrated this weekend
We only had 2 issues
We 6 of us booked a one night stay Detox Spa weekend package , at the check-in the receptionist without asking us put us into 2 double rooms, and one twin room, a couple who wanted to have twin beds ended up in the double room, couple who wanted to have double bed room ended up in a twin room, we did swop between us, but our credit cards linked in incorrectly as well, when I have pointed out to the receptionist at checking he simply refused to corrected , he did not see at all this is a problem! Not too nice start of a spa weekend. My advise to you if you do not mind for group checking the 1st question of the receptionist must be who’s guests having the twin rooms who’s guests having double rooms and accordingly add credit cards and deliver suitcases into each rooms, I think this is the minimums which a receptionist needs to do , and not just randomly adding names and credit card details into any room… also all our suitcases did delivered into one room… which cause more aggravation
The other issues , my friend and her boyfriend stayed in room 318 , on Sunday morning at 6.15am both of them woken up for laud washing machine noise, and the noise was keep continued for 2 loads of washing.
This is the one thing which nobody wish to have on a spa relaxing weekend on Sunday morning.
But otherwise we did enjoy our stay, thank you
And we will come back , but just in case we will check-in room by room ( not as a group) , and we will request specially quite rooms … then I am sure all will be excellent
Kindest Regards
Alda Somloi
We absolutely loved our experience of staying overnight - the hotel room was clean and spacious with tea and coffee facilities. The bed was very comfortable and extra pillows were available.
The spa had lots of different facilities that we could try . We didn’t have any concerns with how busy it was and enjoyed the full experience including our treatment - massage.
Overall a first class spa and would definitely recommend.
The only downfall for us was not being able to stay another night
Hotel room was ok but there was a leaking drain pipe that driped all night so we didn’t get a good sleep. There was only 2 English tea bags in the room and the toilet rolls were both half empty.
The restaurant was ok but we were put in the extension which had a lot of table and chairs and not a lot of room to get around. We were never got offered to go into the main restaurant.
Stayed part of the spa break. Room was decent, if not abit dated.food was terrible. Looks really good on outside and in communal areas but it's not all I expected it to be.
The stay in the main hotel was fantastic. Managed to get a lovely family size room for 2 people on the second floor. Couldn't fault the facilities in the room. Spotless and luxurious. Amazing price with spabreaks considering you get full use of their facilities as well. Everything spa breaks said came through. I would not hesitate to use this company again.
However, the lunchtime meal was a buffet and was tasteless, the breakfast was better though. I have however been to whittlebury hall before and had dinner and breakfast and it was brilliant. Hopefully they'll go back to how it was and change their chef.
After a day spent in the spa it was nice to find we had a pleasant twin room with comfortable beds and ESPA toiletries in the bathroom.
We were not impressed, however by the dining room. What a dreary room with dull lighting, drab colour scheme, no plants apart from a solitary gerbera on the table and no real atmosphere. My starter with some kind of blue cheese was not very nice nor my dessert which was described as cheese cake but obviously didn't contain any kind of cream cheese. We did enjoy out tornados Rossini for which we paid a supplement of £11+. We also liked our waiter, Marius, very much. Praise to him for his attentiveness.
Breakfast was served in the same dreary space with no daylight visible and a long queue for the hot dishes. The pastries were stale.
I am sorry to be so critical but we both felt this was a money-making exercise for spa guests when it came to the catering - packing in as many as possible.
Lovely hotel and room, nice to have 3 beds in a triple rooom which were v comfy. Reception staff friendly. The evening meal was delicious and good quality food. The breakfast was also good quality, however many of the food items needed replenished which was disappointing.
Hotel staff are very helpful and dinner was excellent but very busy so be prepared to eat lot of bread rolls.
Breakfast was good quality , especially vegeterian sausages.
