Cottonmill is a new three-storey spa fusing style, contemporary facilities and a holistic approach to wellness. It’s also surrounded by an exquisite country house hotel.
Elegant and dynamic, the adult-only spa has been designed in a way that’s sympathetic to the historic country house. It also makes the most of the beautiful surroundings. Dressing rooms feature Tom Dixon marble wall lights, stone heated flooring, Dornbracht showers and Dyson Supersonic hairdryers. Meanwhile, award-winning garden designer Ann-Marie Powell has curated the look of Cottonmill’s spa garden.
Glass, wood, slate and large windows are brought together in a contemporary but sensuous wellbeing experience. Air, fire and water meet with a touch of brass to really accentuate luxury credentials. Alongside the latest in fitness facilities, a holistic approach makes it instantly welcoming. Facilities include a 14-metre pool, a Jacuzzi, a vitality pool, sauna, steam room, a gym and fitness suite and exercise studios.
The experience extends outside as well in their exclusive Spa Club, with indoor/outdoor experience showers, a hydrotherapy pool, spa garden, outdoor hot tubs, botanical steam room, salt steam room, organic sauna, panoramic sauna, whisper room, deep relaxation room, four sense loungers and heated loungers. The cherry on top is an extensive new treatment menu, which features therapies from ESPA, Elemis, Aromatherapy Associates, Jessica and Mii.
Alongside massages and facials, you will find Cottonmill’s own signature treatments, a manicure and pedicure salon and a rose relaxation room to retreat to post-treatment where walls are lined with acoustic ‘petals’ and zones are divided by rose-tinted glass screens. Ensuring a spa day can be part of a hotel stay as well as an experience in its own right, the spa also has its own restaurant, the Pantry, for light lunches and drinks.
The spa will also be the first in the UK to introduce treatments on an amber and quartz crystal bed, which delivers thermal therapy by immersing the body in hot sand. Specific treatments will include Cottonmill Sound & Sand, during which the bed gently vibrates while singing bowls are chimed, and the ELEMIS Quartz Poultice Massage, which incorporates warm quartz poultices to increase circulation and release tense muscles. Water massages have also been created with the Vichy massage shower.
