The spa is in the heart of the Kinross House Estate, which sits on the edge of Loch Leven and is the perfect combination of natural beauty and historic architecture. The house itself sets the scene. One of Scotland’s finest and most beautiful destinations, it sits amongst 100 acres 40 minutes from Edinburgh. Steeped in history, the grounds look towards the private Loch Leven Castle Island, complete with its ruined castle where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1567-68.The Coach House Spa itself is in a separate building to the main house, within the grounds.
Built in 1680 as the original stable block of the estate, The Coach House Spa in Scotland has a welcoming elegance of its own. A boutique spa experience, it’s small and perfectly formed, complete with a relaxation lounge, a sauna and hydrotherapy pool. The real indulgence here is the treatments. With just three treatment rooms it really is an intimate experience, using the Kerstin Florian brand known for its philosophy of inner health for outer beauty and a sense of wellbeing through naturally-sourced spa products and technologically-advanced ingredients.
Unlike a regular hotel, the Kinross House Estate is very much a place that you want to take over and have all to yourself. In terms of staying, it’s all tartan soft furnishings and luxe old world style across 10 beautifully decorated en-suite double bedrooms. The Coach House also has a wonderful events area, including a dramatic double height baronial dining hall. So if you are planning a wedding or special occasion, there is the option for private hire.
Sustenance is all about languishing in this beautiful environment and feeling like lord and lady of the manor. There’s the Tartan Bar snug area complete with a mezzanine level. It boasts a fabulous view over Loch Leven and is full of comfy chairs to chill out, read magazines, and tuck into afternoon tea. For the summer months, you can enjoy drinks in the pretty courtyard between treatments as well. One thing’s for sure, there’s an ample supply of Champagne and herbal teas - whichever you prefer.
This is a place where time stands still. So while you may only be here for a few hours, it’s all about really indulging in every moment. Take time to enjoy your environment, have a treatment that lasts a full 55 minutes, and enjoy the quality time, whether it’s all to yourself or with someone really special. As mentioned, this is also a really special place to take over for a weekend for a special occasion.
