A five-star spa hotel, The Lowry has a reputation that precedes it. This ultra-modern destination sits on the banks of the River Irwell, and is the perfect combination of exceptional standards and a warm welcome. All the details are beautifully taken care of - the dining, the service, the views, the spa treatments - everything has been carefully chosen so that you want for nothing while you're here.
The location of The Lowry in the heart of Manchester, is superb. It makes it easy to get to, as well as easy to get out and explore the vibrant city - should you choose to leave the hotel. It's a great place for shopping, head out for the evening to the myriad bars and nightclubs, as well as explore historic sites, art, music and more. That said, the hotel itself is a hub of activity, with a highly recommended bar and restaurant all of its own.
The spa treatments at The Lowry are a joy, combining the powers of ELEMIS and Aromatherapy Associates in a collection of scientifically advanced skincare treatments delivered by expert therapists. The spa environment is light and airy - this is a place that's really all about pampering and taking care of your skin. So, while there's a gym and personal trainers on hand, there's no pool - take your time with (multiple) treatments and then continue the feel-good-factor in the relaxation room.
The floor-to-ceiling windows are probably the most striking architectural feature, but the pristine design leaves nothing to be desired when it comes to warmth either. Dark woods lend a feeling of luxury and depth, while details such as Fornasetti plates, lithographs and prints create a sense of community, heritage and impeccable style.
Food and drink are in abundant supply at this spa hotel, and frankly, it's the place to be seen. The River Restaurant is one of Manchester’s best places to eat and drink overlooking Santiago Calatrava’s Trinity Bridge, and cocktails are a treat on Manchester’s longest bar terrace. Champagne is a must here as you're guaranteed to be in celebratory style - particularly if you opt for an afternoon tea to complete your trip... which we strongly recommend you do.
