Billed as the St Tropez of Italy, the Colonna Pevero Hotel in Sardinia is the country’s answer to old school Hollywood style.
On the Costa Smeralda, the famed resort is close to Pevero’s famous and enchanting beaches, and has a name synonymous with luxury and style. It’s everything one looks for on a holiday where being spoiled is the name of the game.
Sail in style
Surrounded by a natural port that’s shaped like a deer, the historic village is brimming with boutiques and shops. While days may well be spent hopping from yacht to yacht or sunning on the sand, evenings can take you to glamorous nightspots to show off your tan, with some of the region’s most stylish nightclubs embedded into the hillside and regular events organised by famous visiting artists.
Golf, biking and running are all joyous activities in the heat of the Mediterranean sun, but as Costa Smeralda is principally known as a sailing port, it seems it would be foolish not to take to the high seas and coast along in style. It is home to one of the most famous yacht clubs in the Med, with sailing schools in abundance (although we’re perfectly happy sitting aboard and quaffing champagne), and international regattas organised in the region including the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup and the Swan Cup.
Into the blue
Alternatively, you can take that swim into the deep blue a little further with diving enthusiasts heading to the area to explore the booming underwater flora and fauna. The pristine setting and colourful aquatic landscapes are a major draw card for divers, both new and experienced, going on an adventure to discover rare species on the seabed.
Back at the hotel, the experience is one that even Brigitte Bardot or Clark Gable would be proud to enjoy. Candlelight dinners at Atmosphere Restaurant, spa treatments from Italian product line [comfort zone], and design that straddles the line between modern luxury classic good taste with effortless grace.
