This year, the elegant Taplow House Hotel in Buckinghamshire is opening a brand new £2 million spa, and has now joined the Spabreaks.com collection.
The 30-bedroom, four-star Georgian hotel was already an elegant affair, with its pristine exterior and exemplary service, but now it’s taking things up a notch with the spa opening in June 2022.
Taplow House Hotel is a country house retreat, which already has a reputation for welcoming guests in style. A combination of pretty rooms and suites with views across serene grounds, it’s an unequivocally romantic hotel made for luxuriating in every moment. That said, as part of the updates, many of the public areas in the hotel will also be getting new soft furnishings, and a mosaic floor unearthed in the reception area and hallway will be restored, so there’s much to look forward to, even if you’ve visited before.
As mentioned, Taplow House Hotel and Spa is a place for taking time over the finer things in life, and that definitely includes food and drink. Whether you’re a fan of leisurely breakfasts (a personal favourite), or decadent afternoon teas, it’s all available. The Garden Room is where meals are served in relaxed style, while the Bar and Drawing Room offer coffee and cocktails whenever it takes your fancy. The Grenfell Lounge is where healthy spa lunches will be served, and as the sun begins to shine more readily, the Terrace is set to be a firm favourite for alfresco drinks and lighter bites.
The lower ground floor of the hotel is dedicated to the new spa, complete with a nail bar and pedicure room, relaxation lounge, sauna, glazed conservatory and an outdoor whirlpool. There’s also a spa lounge on the ground floor, and having partnered with British skincare brand Temple Spa, there will be six treatment rooms where guests can enjoy a range of holistic face and body therapies. It’s worth noting there’s no swimming pool at the spa - this is a place that’s all about pampering.
Close to Windsor, the hotel gives the sense that you’re away from it all, whilst also being well located for exploring the famously historic town on the River Thames, and visiting nearby attractions. For example, head to Henley-on-Thames (famous for its Royal Regatta in the summer), Windsor Castle or wander around the picturesque town of Eton.
Well priced, carefully considered, excellently located and brand new, Taplow House Hotel and Spa promises to be the best of all worlds, offering spa goers looking for a genteel escape somewhere new and beautiful to explore. Sure to be a firm favourite for romantic escapes, we can just imagine the proposals that might take place on that gorgeous terrace - can’t you?
