Read full postChampagne has always been a hallmark of a luxurious and indulgent experience. It heralds celebration, romance, joy and decadence. Even if you’re wearing your tracksuit trousers and your hair in an ‘80s style scrunchie, a glass of Champagne works wonders to make you feel just a little bit glamorous.
Now with the rise of English wine, and English vineyards producing sparkling wine that arguably rivals some of the Champagne oligarchs, the concept of a Champagne nail bar and the inclusion of sparkling wines within luxury spa experiences is taking on new and impressive meaning. Here are some of the best Champagne spa experiences, exclusive to Spabreaks.com…
The Spa at Carden sits in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, and is part of a 1,000 acre estate. Amongst the superbly beautiful experiences, the retreat has to offer, it has two unique sparkling wine and Champagne elements. The first, is the estate’s own vineyard, which you can not only tour, but also sample in the form of their Carden Park Estate Reserve sparkling wine from grapes grown on site. The second, is the exceptional Bollinger Champagne bar, set within the spa itself.
Giving you full advantage of these features, the Elysium Bollinger Experience is the height of luxury and indulgence. Allowing you to experience the best of this brand new spa, it is inspired, as the name suggests, by Bollinger. Enjoy a glass of Bollinger Champagne on arrival in the spa and receive your very own Bollinger robe and flip flops to take home as part of the package. Your overnight stay will include dinner in Redmond’s restaurant and accommodation in a Carden Luxury Suite, which is an experience in its own right.
The Suite has a king sized bed, separate living area, luxury bathroom and spectacular views of the Cheshire countryside from floor to ceiling windows. It includes a Sonos sound system, fireplace and 50” TV with Sky channels. Relax under the star lit ceiling over the bed and bath, or enjoy a speciality coffee from the Nespresso machine. The large bathroom includes ESPA toiletries, robes and slippers, a walk in shower, feature bath and television. To ensure you have a truly memorable stay, you will also enjoy a complimentary fully stocked minibar and chocolates plus all the usual home-from-home essentials including hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Your room will also include a bottle of Bollinger with matching glasses for you to keep.
This stay includes unlimited use of the Spa Garden and Thermal Experiences on the day of arrival, as well as two treatments from a choice of: a Five Element Aroma Massage, Ho-Leaf and Muscle Melt Massage, Green Tea and Aloe Cleansing Facial, Five Element Aroma Facial, OSKIA Revitalising Facial or a Mindful Moments treatment.
The luxurious eco spa at South Lodge does a stirling job of combining luxury and wellbeing in all ways. One way in which it does that, is with a discerning reverence for the surrounding environment and community. It has a wild swimming pool, a grass and sedum roof that help it blend into the South Downs, and luxury and wellbeing are also brought together with local vineyard, Ridgeview, famed for their sparkling wine, in the form of the Ridgeview Beauty Bar - and English twist on the traditional Champagne nail bar.
On their Luxury Elysium Spa Break, head to the luxurious South Lodge for a decadent one night spa break. Stay in a wow-factor suite complete with a private terrace and its own bubbling hot tub overlooking the hotel grounds. No need to rush in the morning as your spa break includes brunch in the spa restaurant Botanica.
Spend your day enjoying an 80-minute botanical spa treatment to restore the skin, using rose quartz, sage, chamomile, calendula, edelweiss and jojoba. You can also get back to nature with a mud room experience for two. It starts with a cleansing head-to-toe scrub whilst steaming in your private steam room, then apply a natural mud to detoxify and finish by choosing from a selection of skincare to rehydrate and moisturise your skin.
Your spa break also includes return transport to nearby English vineyard, Ridgeview, famed for its world class sparkling wines. There you will be treated to a private tour and tasting, before returning to South Lodge for an eight course tasting menu in award-winning restaurant, Tom Kemble at The Pass. Dinner is served with a matching wine flight and you will also be introduced to Tom Kemble himself, leaving with a signed menu.
Set in 350 acres of mixed farm and woodland in County Armagh’s Slieve Gullion, Killeavy Castle Estate is like stepping into a wonderland of luxury. At once fairytale castle meets modern luxury, there is the beautifully restored Killeavy Castle, which dates back to 1836, and all surrounded by magnificent grounds. The spa meanwhile, is purpose built and is set against the majesty of the mountains and the sweeping beauty of the Ring of Gullion. Here, they use the Caudalie product line in exquisite spa treatments, a range derived from the Caudalie brand’s family vineyard in Bordeaux and offering effective skincare from natural ingredients derived from grapes and the grapevine.
On their Castle Luxury Elysium Escape, you are invited to live like kings and queens, staying in the castle (which is separate from the main hotel accommodation) for one night. Enjoy a Bubbly Afternoon Tea for two on arrival in the castle drawing room and relax with a two-hour his or hers spa experience featuring use of the thermal suite, an Elysium exclusive cocktail in the relaxation room and a treatment each. Ladies receive a Premier Cru (Global Anti-Aging) Facial and a Fleur De Vigne Candle Massage, while gentlemen receive an Elemis Deeper than Deep Massage and a Feet of a Lord Pedicure. The experience is complete with a six-course dining experience and a bottle of house wine in the restaurant. Elysium guests will also exclusively enjoy late checkout, a free spa gift each and preferential treatment times subject to availability.
