Post-pandemic wellness: How spa breaks became part of regular self-care
How more facets of holistic wellbeing have been introduced to both the spa environment, and our everyday lives, since 2020.
Read full postSurrounded by the Suffolk countryside, Seckford Hall Hotel and Spa is a historic hotel with a wealth of beautiful experiences to offer. Here's what you need to know.
This luxurious country house hotel has 520 years of history to its name, originally built as a family home before it eventually became a hotel that we can all enjoy and love. That history remains tangible as you wander through Tudor arches and historic corridors, sleep in opulent rooms and suites (some with four-poster beds), and marvel at the Elizabethan splendour.
While the main hotel is very much the domain of traditional style and romantic retreats, this is a hotel that prides itself on offering something for everyone. With that in mind, the grounds are not just somewhere to explore, but also host a variety of modern accommodation too. There are studio rooms, family lodgings and executive apartments. There's even the Junior Suite, which sleeps up to four people and has its own private garden.
Dining at Seckford Hall Hotel and Spa is an award-winning experience that also draws on the heritage of the hotel. Using lots of herbs, fruits and vegetables grown in their own gardens, their 1530 Restaurant serves up a feast, for which they've received two AA Rosettes. They also serve an excellent afternoon tea with plenty of clotted cream.
Alongside the hotel, the spa is a tranquil, relaxed space that's designed to put you at ease. Offering countryside charm in abundance (but with no shortage of opulence), it sits in a former outbuilding within the grounds. Somewhere you can spend the whole day, there's a pool, gym, and sauna as well as a dedicated wellbeing café. Then head up to the first floor and you will find single and double treatment rooms where you can enjoy therapies using the beautiful Natural Spa Factory and ESPA product lines.
We've referenced the location of Seckford Hall, in terms of its tranquillity and for its garden produce, but they really are an asset in their own right. Offsetting the impressive hotel, the 34-acre estate is meticulously manicured, complete with a picturesque lake, and a delightful Victorian-style bandstand - a popular feature for photos and weddings!
