Read full postThe W Hotels brand is well known for style, sophistication and a sense of excitement. In the heart of London, it occupies a location in the cultural heartland, Soho. Embodying glitz, glamour and just enough retro style, it’s described as the place to ‘retox and detox’. Here’s what you need to know…
Perhaps the best way to describe this hotel is slick, but it’s also got a sense of humour. Replete with signature details such as the W bed and the comfiest pillows designed by the city’s ultimate fashion disrupter, Jack Irving, and all things controlled by the swipe of an iPad.
W Hotel is somewhere that everything feels like a treat. There’s something sparkly about the whole experience so when it comes to dinner and drinks, it’s a chance to dress up and have fun. The Perception is the luxe lounge style restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as music and live events. Think theatrical lighting, innovative cocktails and nothing is too much trouble.
Ultra-modern, the gym is on the sixth floor with the adjacent AWAY Spa. It’s small, perfectly formed and very much about gearing up to treatments and feeling fantastic. There’s a sauna and steam room, and then it’s onto the therapies.
This is a placed filled with skincare knowledge. It offers a range of red-carpet-ready treatments beloved by celebrities. Using the luxurious Natura Bisse product line, they deliver a wide range of face and body therapies. Here, even the people behind the treatments are well known: tanning is courtesy of industry leader James Harknett; Su-Man is one of the most sought-after facialists in the world, and lash extensions by LASH LONDON are courtesy of Elizabeth Chandler.
Soho is not necessarily the first place you think of when you’re looking for a spa break but talk about a fantastic location. This buzzy heart of the city is an inspired place to pamper, preen and indulge in the unapologetic joy of feeling good. Spend the day taking care of yourself and then ‘go out’, whether it’s in the hotel restaurant or to the theatre, clubs, bars and restaurants close by.
