The location
An hour from Paris near Fontainebleau, Chateau d’Augerville is a charming, friendly four star castle hotel surrounded by greenery. The hotel is surrounded by spectacular grounds including a nature reserve.
The hotel
Warm and welcoming, Chateau d’Augerville has retained its historic grandeur and traditional style. It sits amongst a golf course and nature reserve, while rooms and suites enjoy contemporary style in period outbuildings, with garden or courtyard views. The castle itself also has two suites - Delacroix located in the square tower, and Chateaubriand.
The food
Food is a very special experience here; the main restaurant, Jacques Cœur, is a warm, welcoming and grand setting under spectacular chandeliers serving traditional French fare. Bistro The Atlier is a more relaxed environment serving traditional cuisine inspired by local farm produce.
The chocolate
In addition to a reputation for culinary excellence, the hotel also has its own chocolaterie where sweets and delicacies are devised by their artisan chocolatier Hervé Boudot. You can take a class and be guided through the process of making your own chocolate. Praline, ganache, orangettes, gingembrettes, as well as old fashioned marshmallows, nougats and candies - it’s all about homemade chocolates to learn about and enjoy.
