Read full postA modern hotel serving up a warm welcome just south of Birmingham, The Abbey Hotel invites you to rest and relax with friends and family in the Worcestershire countryside. Here are just a few of the reasons we love it.
The family owned hotel in Redditch is a four-star getaway that's warm, welcoming and sophisticated. There's a wide variety of rooms to stay in, from dog-friendly to family spaces, not to mention the Royal Suite, which is perfect for romantic getaways.
The Brasserie is the hotel's fine dining restaurant, serving up views of the gardens and golf course as well as a menu of British and modern European flavours. Lounge 98 is their stylish bar, bedecked with heritage colours and serving delicious afternoon teas. Guests also delight in the tapas menu and the well-stocked shelves of The Terrace Bar, where guests can watch sport or spend time on the sunny terrace in summer.
The hotel’s health club is a chance to work out and wind down. In light, airy and contemporary surroundings, it features a 15-metre indoor pool complete with pool-side hot tub, and modern steam room and sauna. There's also a recently refurbished gym, which features state-of-the-art Matrix equipment with virtual active software that transports you to some of the world's most exotic locations while you exercise. Completing the experience, spend time enjoying therapies from ELEMIS - personally, we're partial to a lime and ginger salt scrub.
Home to its own 18-hole, championship golf course, the hotel is a haven for golfers, complete with its own driving range, accommodating all abilities from those who are practically pros to anyone giving it a go for the first time.
As well as being a joy to spend time in, the hotel is perfectly placed for exploring the surrounding area. For example, it is a mere nine miles from the popular Cadbury World, as well as a short drive from the elegance and grandeur of Palladian mansion Ragley Hall and the famous birthplace of William Shakespeare at Stratford Upon Avon.
