Read full postNew to Spabreaks.com this year, The Berkeley is a five star hotel in the heart of Knightsbridge, fusing A list design with more than 300 years of heritage and the best of luxury organic wellbeing. As if that wasn’t enough reason in its own right, here are just a few of the things that make it a bucket list London spa destination in 2021.
The hotel is a wonderful combination of old world grandeur, fusing A list design, like the glasshouse Grand Pavilion Penthouse designed by André Fu, with more than 300 years of heritage. Rooms and suites greet you with bold, innovative design, Italian marble bathrooms and hand selected artworks, while signature suites add Champagne and fresh flowers for that extra touch of luxury.
The spa experience is divided into two elements: The Berkeley Health Club & Spa, which is a light, luxurious and peaceful space for working out and winding down; and the Bamford Wellness Spa which is about rest, relaxation and pampering. Together it’s got feel good factor written all over it, and is a dreamy environment for a romantic escape and time together.
There are four dining options at the hotel. The main restaurant for evening meals and fine dining is Marcus. Named for Marcus Wareing, working with his chef patrons Mark and Shauna Froydenlund, they offer inventive, Michelin-starred modern British dishes. You can choose from a three-course lunch to a tasting menu, a la carte to the chef’s table for culinary craftsmanship with a dash of theatre.
Another foodie favourite is The Collins Rooms, a magical white space with lots of light and views over London. Here, they are well known for their fashion focused Prêt-à-Portea afternoon tea in particular, which is a real lesson in confectionary craftsmanship!
The jewel in the crown of this London spa hotel is the Bamford Wellness Spa, which brings a little piece of the Cotswolds to the city, themed around the delicious Bamford collection of products and spa treatments. Bamford is famous for their use of pure ingredients harvested from the earth and designed to restore your body in harmony with its natural rhythms. The spa also incorporates products from the award-winning cult beauty brand OSKIA as well.
