From the history and culture to the natural beauty and inherently warm hospitality, the magic of Ireland is epitomised in its spas; wellbeing gems and luxury escapes that are winning international awards for excellence, and that’s been celebrated at the Hotel Awards Ireland 2019 where some of our favourite spa hotels came out as winners.
The event welcomed over 110 guests on Monday 21st of October in a celebration of the Irish hotel sector. The awards acknowledged the value of hotels that lie within the heart of local communities in Ireland and recognised the importance of hotels, how they help drive tourism by offering visitors exceptional hospitality and a unique Irish experience.

The River Spa at Knightsbrook is a holistic cultural venture with advanced science-based treatments that promote a soulful, healthy and sustainable life. As for treatments, the product houses used are Comfort Zone and the Natural Spa Factory. They also won Hotel Spa of the Year.
The Spa at Castleknock Hotel is the hotel’s brand-new purpose-built hotel spa with views of the golf course, lake and surrounding countryside. A five star hotel nestled into the village of Killenard, The Heritage is within easy reach of historic Celtic sites and serene country villages. The award winning health club and spa has a range of facilities as well as 16 treatment rooms where therapists use a combination of ESPA and VOYA products in a wide collection of face and body treatments to suit all.
The Shandon Hotel and Spa overlooks the breathtakingly beautiful Sheephaven Bay and is located on the Wild Atlantic Way, being just a short drive from Dunfanaghy and Horn Head. The Shandon Spa provides a new perspective on health, beauty and relaxation, taking you on a wellness journey with views of the coastline. The interior is designed and equipped to highest international standards, and a pretty water feature sets the scene as you arrive. Enter the marbled hallway and continue to the vitality area where you will find a luxurious range of heat and cooling experiences.
