Safe Hands for Cancer at The Spa at Carden

The Spa at Carden

On a 1000 acre estate in Cheshire, The Spa at Carden is an adult-only retreat that’s a beautiful day spa destination as well as being an exceptional part of an overnight break. Celebrated for its luxury details throughout the hotel and grounds, the spa allows you to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors all year round. Tailoring to the needs of every guest at every stage of wellness, they are part of the Safe Hands for Cancer collection, welcoming anyone living with or beyond cancer and offers a number of specialist trained therapists.

It has a magnificent spa garden

The 2,500 square metre spa garden, allows guests to experience both the indoors and outdoors all year round. The adult only (18 and over) spa has panoramic views of the grounds throughout, but the team have also worked thoughtfully to make sure that the garden facilities are useable, whatever the weather.

It has its own vineyard

There’s more to do than just enjoy the (admittedly expansive) spa. The 1000 acre estate includes the hotel’s own vineyard, which you can wander around and experience the fruits of across the estate. In particular, it inspires the restaurant. At the not-so-cryptically-named The Vines, there’s an informal atmosphere, which invites you to enjoy a leisurely lunch or a drink with friends including a glass of the Carden Park Estate Reserve sparkling wine produced from grapes grown onsite. There is also the more formal, Redmond’s which has an AA rosette for its fine dining overseen by Executive Head Chef, Graham Tinsley MBE.

The great outdoors is incorporated into the spa experience

Working hand-in-hand with Elemental Herbology, a British brand whose ethos draws on the five element theory, not only have they designed a signature treatment using herbs grown in the hotel’s own garden, but facilities have incorporated the element concept as well. Details, for example, include metal hot tubs sunk into the earth and a wooden sauna with an earthen roof. Further incorporating the location with the spa experience, the team harvest grape juice from the vineyard to mix with their clay masks for an entirely unique experience connected to the environment.

You will love their Champagne bar

A partnership with Bollinger has ensured the presence of a beautiful Champagne bar, alongside indoor and outdoor thermal facilities. A spa restaurant means that the day spa is somewhere you can visit in its own right, separate to the hotel, as well as being somewhere you can spend the whole day.

Spa treatments for anyone with cancer

The spa is accredited by the SATCC and part of the Spabreaks.com Safe Hands for Cancer Collection, this spa welcomes people living with or beyond cancer and offers a number of specialist trained therapists. The SATCC (Standards Authority for Training and Cancer Care) is the only dedicated body of industry experts providing dedicated training for spa therapists to ensure they can treat spa guests at all stages of their cancer journey.

Meanwhile, Safe Hands for Cancer from Spabreaks.com identifies spa destinations where therapists have had the right level of training to adapt treatments for anyone with or recovering from cancer, for their safety as well as making sure they receive maximum benefit from their treatment. It ensures that whichever experience you choose, you will always be in safe hands.

Working with the training available from Made for Life Organics, they offer beautiful treatments for anyone with cancer. For example:

Hand on Heart: Slow soothing rhythmic movements on the back, neck, shoulders and head are combined with a relaxing facial to ensure a true sense of relaxation

Mindful Moments: Create a rich sense of calmness whilst your body and mind are nourished and replenished. A beautiful nurturing meditation experience with a calming foot ritual and massage to clear the mind and soothe the soul.

Touch Therapy: An exceptionally relaxing sequence of touches tailored to your needs. Soothing touch to full body or part body will induce deep relaxation enabling you to switch off and enjoy the present moment.
