From Yorkshire spa retreats to Suffolk wellbeing destinations, winter feels a little warmer this year with the arrival of some exquisite spa destinations to Spabreaks.com this November.
Read full postWith its striking clifftop location, Seaham Hall offers the ultimate in luxury and romance. Classical, elegant and peaceful, its Serenity Spa is a haven of tranquillity, setting the scene for a truly nurturing luxury spa experience. This spa has won awards and it’s easy to see why with its selection of treatments and rituals influenced by Far Eastern healing - the perfect place to enjoy the coastal air while enjoying the outdoor hot tubs and roof garden.
Seaham Hall is an iconic building in the style of a Georgian country house, dating back to 1791.Today it is a five star hotel with 22 suites that treasures its rich history and retains its eccentric character alongside contemporary interiors. The one-time home of Lord Byron (his portrait hangs on the dining room wall), it has a distinct air of romance. Meanwhile, there are also little nods to other aspects of its history, such as the Ada Lovelace Suite, named for Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace and a respected English mathematician and writer.
Set against a backdrop of 37 acres of grounds perched on a cliff top, Seaham Hall is just half an hour from Durham city centre, but might as well be a million miles away.
There are two restaurants at the hotel that highlight the local and seasonal produce from the surrounding area. Byron’s Restaurant delivers a classical menu in a contemporary environment, while Ozone at Seaham Hall is a spherical outdoor terrace with views of the gardens offering an informal, brasserie-style space, combining Eastern ingredients with European cuisine.
The Serenity Spa has all the facilities you could ask for, but it is its knowledge and ethos that really sets it apart. Adhering to the venue’s inspiration, Lord Byron, and his belief that “the great art of life is sensation”, the spa has a range of facilities also offers a collection of treatments and therapies for face and body using the Temple Spa product line. They put a phenomenal amount of training into their team and in the last couple of year sin particular have worked closely with the team at Made for Life Organics to train therapists in Cancer Touch treatments - adapting and applying treatments for anyone being treated for cancer.
Offering a new luxury spa experience for post lockdown wellbeing bliss, the Afternoon Thai Tea Spa includes a choice of one 45-minute from: Temple Drift Away Massage or an Ishga massage. It also includes an afternoon Thai tea in the Pan Asian Ozone Restaurant between 2pm and 4.30pm. A robe, towel and slippers are provided and you also get use of the facilities and spa garden included from 1pm to 5pm.
