All the reasons to go on a team trip to Brooklands Spa Hotel

Spabreaks.com Chief Customer Officer, Nick, talks about how a team trip to this modern Surrey spa proved the perfect destination for a group getaway with a racey difference.

A spa break with a twist

Brooklands Spa Hotel in Weybridge has a lot going for it, and there are many reasons why you might visit, but amongst the best is time with friends or colleagues. A spacious, light and ultra contemporary destination that's easy to get to, it's easy going and offers something for everyone from great food to wellbeing. It also has a unique addition to your spa experience thanks to its racing heritage and its location right next to both the famous Brooklands Race Circuit (dating to 1907) and Mercedes-Benz World.

A convivial and contemporary hotel

The whole hotel and spa are unequivocally modern. The racing history of the surroundings is gently referenced throughout, but it's not intrusive. For example, in the reception area there's an impressive, bespoke feature wall and abstract art installation that reflects cars travelling around a race track.

Rooms are spacious and light, but in addition to its modern style it's warm and welcoming. There's nothing pretentious about it, but it leaves you in no doubt that everything is done to fantastic standards. One whole side of the hotel looks out over the Brooklands Race Circuit, so for those with an interest in the sport, definitely request a room with a view.

Cocktails and culinary favourites

The restaurant and bar continue the warm and contemporary theme, offering modern design and a welcoming atmosphere. The 1907 restaurant, named for the founding year of the race circuit, serves foodie favourites in bar and grill style - we happily tucked into our burgers and chips.

The 1907 glasshouse has floor-to-ceiling windows that can be fully retracted for alfresco dining on sunny days, and the bar has been decorated in 1920s style, for a glamorous location for cocktails and light bites. Their cocktails in particular were awesome - from a classic Old Fashioned to a modern Mojito.

Wonderful wellbeing experiences

Wellbeing at BSpa is a really joyful experience. There's a state-of-the-art gym just off the lobby, but then the spa itself is all about pampering. There's no pool, but there is a thermal suite including a steam room, two saunas, a Himalayan Salt Room, an ice fountain, and an experience shower. There's also an outdoor hydrotherapy hot tub overlooking the Mercedes-Benz World track, which is open all year round.

For those who have a treatment there are 11 treatment rooms (again, great for groups), where they offer popular [comfort zone] therapies. One of our Sales Consultants,Tatjana, who accompanied us on the trip had a deep tissue massage and was full of high praise for her therapist, saying:

"I had an incredible deep tissue massage with Ken! He takes care and pays attention to detail, asking how you feel - it was exactly what I needed after having a baby. Ken has the hands of a god. He knows exactly where your body needs work and how to administer it. The atmosphere in the treatment room was also very relaxed."

Added entertainment

The hotel was inspired by and remains adjacent to the famous Brooklands Race Circuit, as well as the newer Mercedes-Benz World, and both can be as much a part of your trip as you want them to. However, for those looking to combine their spa break with additional entertainment, both provide great options, especially if you're on a group getaway celebrating hen parties, stag-dos or birthdays. You can book driving experiences or step back in time and explore the Brooklands Museum with its exhibitions and events.
