Read full postIn this month of Jan-you-ary, when your wellbeing is the main focus of our health and happiness conversation, nowhere could be a better place to start the year than the hub of wellness - health spa Champneys Tring…
Britain’s original health spa, Champneys Tring dates back to 1925 when it was founded by naturopath Stanley Lief. In their Medical Centre they offer a precision approach to wellness, and throughout the spa treatments use their own product line. Including the UK’s first Marine and Wellness spa, which offers salt-water based treatments, they continue to prove that after nearly 100 years at the forefront of wellness, they’re still the height of wellbeing.
Sitting in 160 acres of manicured gardens and picturesque Hertfordshire countryside, Champneys Tring is perfectly located to enjoy wellbeing to the full. From yoga and hiking trails to tennis and free bike hire, wellies readily available for walking and up to 20 exercise classes a day, Champneys Tring embodies every element of health and fitness.
Champneys Tring is a fusion of the most exceptional range of wellness facilities, spa treatments, hospitality and nutrition. The variety means there is plenty to do throughout the day, from fitness classes to pools, from the thermal suite to guided walks, and as mentioned, plenty of things to do outside as well as through their variety of holistic treatments.
Proving that wellbeing and luxury are not mutually exclusive, Champneys Tring is no stranger to luxury. For example, they have a chauffeur-driven Bentley service should it be desired.
Food is superbly important at Champneys, proving that a healthy lifestyle is not one devoid of flavour and helping guests to maintain or start a healthy relationship with food. Champneys food philosophy is a cornerstone of the experience. Alcohol is limited; instead they offer a bounty of healthy fare that celebrates British heritage as well as an international influence.
Thanks to its reputation for excellence and discretion, Champneys Tring has attracted celebrities across the decades. Names including Naomi Campbell and Brad Pitt echo through its corridors, and many more besides.
This is perhaps best evidenced by their Elysium Collection spa break - exclusive to Spabreaks.com. Giving you a chance to experience the best of luxury and wellness all in one place, the UK’s original health spa invites you to enjoy a spa break with all the VIP trimmings. While arrival is normally from 2pm, as VIP guests you are invited to take advantage of early check in from 1.30pm. Your spa experience begins with a personal call prior to your stay with useful pre-arrival information and to arrange any additional treatments you wish.
You have full use of the resort’s facilities and classes throughout your stay including access to the VIP Lounge complete with fruit, refreshments, newspapers and magazines. You will be given a gold standard robe for use during your stay and a tote bag to keep. You will also get the opportunity to purchase your gold standard robe for £39 instead of the usual £49 and Champneys Premier therapists will complete a 20-minute consultation and perform all of your treatments during your stay. In the evening you can indulge in a three course meal before retiring to your luxurious room for the evening (you may enjoy a free upgrade to a suite depending on availability). In the morning, enjoy a healthy breakfast buffet and use of the facilities before another buffet at lunch.
During your stay you can also choose from either a 50 minute personal training session or tennis lesson for two. While check-out from your room is at 11am, you are invited to stay and enjoy everything the spa has to offer until a 4pm departure time. You will receive a 15-minute ‘Final Touch of Make-Up’ before you leave to complete your stay.
Romantic, convivial and very much loved by all who visit, the health spa is perhaps best loved by those looking to kick start or maintain a healthy lifestyle. Giving you tools to achieve particular objectives, it might be recovering from burnout, losing weight or simply having a bit of a digital detox.
