Read full postThe beautiful thing about a spa break is that it doesn’t just have to be about the spa itself; it’s about the whole package. Combining it with a day at the races makes for a complete experience that’s perfect for sharing with groups of friends. Looking to one of the first key events of the season, Racing Breaks explains where to stay to get ready (and recover) in style for Cheltenham Festival…
The Cheltenham Festival is a highlight of the year for any racegoer. A four-day spectacle in March, it is the ultimate stage for the UK and Ireland’s top racehorses to come together at the home of jumps racing, Cheltenham Racecourse. Situated at Prestbury Park, the views are inspiring and capture the essence of the postcard perfect Cotswolds. It’s an occasion to get dressed up in all your finery with prizes for the best dressed lady to be won.
The Festival starts on Tuesday 12th March, with Champions Day followed by the all important Ladies Day on Wednesday 13th. Ladies Day is one of the best of the week for entertainment as well as the racing itself. It’s ideal for all racing enthusiasts, but in particular for those who have never experienced the Festival before.
When you go to a glamorous event like this you want to feel the part. Dispense with long distance travelling and stay at the QHotels - Cheltenham Chase Hotel, which is ideally located on the outskirts of Cheltenham.
Cheltenham has a history as a spa town since mineral springs were discovered there in 1716. Frankly, it would be rude to be in the area and not to ‘take the waters’ in this historic Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Spend a night at the QHotels - Cheltenham Chase Hotel. Feel your best with a spa treatment the morning before you head to the races or perhaps the night before. The spa has a boutique vibe with two treatment rooms plus two duo rooms where therapists offer a range of treatments from facials and massages, to manicures, pedicures, and the highly recommended Q Rituals.
Travel on Ladies Day with Racing Breaks for a 10% discount and access to the Racing Breaks VIP Lounge. A one night stay at QHotels - Cheltenham Chase Hotel with the Racing Breaks VIP Lounge is available from £399 per person, based on two people sharing.
To avoid the crowds you can head to the Racing Breaks Lounge early for breakfast. Then make yourself comfortable for the panel of racing experts who will be there to break down the jargon and share their tips for the upcoming races.
Throughout the day you will have access to the private bar and enjoy a lunch of gourmet handmade pies, whipped potatoes and gravy. Don’t worry about missing any of the action as the lounge has numerous televisions covering the racing live from on course.
After lunch you can take a wander around the ‘shopping village’ where leading brands showcase unique designs, and artists, jewellers, and food stalls give you the chance to pick up unique gifts for yourself, friends, and loved ones.
