Read full postSeptember birthdays arrive just in time to beat the post-summer blues.
According to the Office of National Statistics, 26th September has consistently been the most common day to be born over the last two decades. In fact, September is pretty popular for birthdays all round as the most common birthday month in England.
It's wonderful really. Whether it's your birthday, you're celebrating a loved one or maybe you or a friend is expecting a baby this month, with all those back to school vibes and post-summer blues, September provides the perfect pick me up, giving the recipient and everyone around them a great excuse to pamper, party and enjoy beautiful presents.
Fun September fact for you - this month's birthstone is the sapphire - that mesmerising blue stone, which in wellness terms is connected to the throat chakra and the third eye chakra.
The throat chakra is the centre of communication, creativity and self expression - in short, it's the body's communication hub, where you find your voice and sing praises —for yourself and others. It's also linked with turquoise crystals, thought to help promote clear and honest communication.
The third eye chakra is connected with forgiveness and compassion both for ourselves and others. Located in the centre of your head, parallel to the middle of your eyebrows, it's believed to be linked to perception, awareness, and spiritual communication. It's also associated with the lepidolite gemstone, which can be used as a calming stone to help with feelings of stress, anxiety and depression.
Take that chakra inspiration with you and your pampering plans - as we head into autumn, spa breaks take on a seasonal quality. It's all about warmth - think rich aromatherapy oils for feelings of cosiness, soothing massages to release tension, and indulgent afternoon teas wrapped up in your fluffy white robe.
Of course, ultimately the best day to be born is the day that you WERE born, and whichever day that is, it always deserves a celebration. So buy a gift voucher or book a break because there's no time like the present to give the gift of spa.
