Spas with gardens to rival Highgrove
As we celebrate King Charles' coronation this month we take inspiration from his love of horticulture and his home at Highgrove when it comes to outdoor wellness and spa gardens.
Read full postWe started the experiment by applying two coats of each nail polish to make the contest fair. When it came to the application and finish, Revlon Nail Enamel was by far the superior nail polish. It had a bright, shiny finish and was quick drying. Rimmel London 60 Seconds was the least satisfying, as contrary to the name, the nail polish just would not dry. It smudged after a few minutes and we ended up having to take it all off and starting again.
After one day, all the colours were looking perfect, as you’d expect. There were no chips and all nails still had a glossy finish.
After three days I was seeing minimal wear and tear. Most of the colours were holding strong, particularly Revlon, Essie and Barry M. On the other hand, Maybelline Color Show was the first to start losing colour around the end of the nails, and had a few noticeable chips.
By day seven, the colour around the end of all the nails was starting to fade, some more than others. The nails coated in Essie and Revlon still had a glossy finish with almost no chips or fading. However, the nails wearing Maybelline Color Show and Rimmel London 60 Seconds were chipped at the ends and looking pretty messy after only seven days.
Revlon Nail Enamel! While Essie was a strong contender, its application, finish and durability was not as good as Revlon. I would recommend the Revlon Nail Enamel if you’re looking for a fast drying, glossy nail polish which is also long-lasting.
If you are on a budget however, and think £6.49 is a bit steep for a nail polish, Barry M is the colour for you. While the colour faded slightly, it incurred no chips, and at only £2.99 you can’t go wrong.
That said, we all know nothing beats a manicure in a spa…
