Tried and tested: Cityproof Facial at Heavenly Spa at The Westin London City

This year, Heavenly Spa at The Westin London City opened its doors to city slickers in need of a spa break, and also joined Spabreaks.com’s luxury Elysium Collection. One of the things that really makes this spa stand out is their attention to detail when it comes to spa treatments - they really are exceptional. A favourite is their Cityproof Facial from the Germaine de Capuccini product line, and our very own Senior Product Manager, Sarah Hill, visited to test it out… it’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it.

About Germaine de Capuccini skincare

One of the sleekest eco-chic skincare brands on the market - when green goes global and high-tech, Germaine de Capuccini is what it looks like.  Founded by Spanish aesthetician Carmen Vidal, the brand incorporates beauty secrets learned in Algiers and honed in Paris. They’re all about results, and they use ‘Green Chemistry’ that has embraced organic ingredients and rejected animal testing since before it was fashionable.

About the Cityproof Facial

Described as an ‘oxygenating anti-pollution facial for suffocated skin’, the award-winning Cityproof Facial protects and repairs the skin from pollution damage and external stress using two revolutionary masks. Amongst the variety of steps involved, it features a unique bubble mask to release pure oxygen into the dermal layers of the skin to detoxify the cells. Then the second mask activates the skin’s immune system, increasing its defence capability. The treatment also includes a highly relaxing, lymphatic facial massage to de-stress and detoxify. So skin is left feeling healthy, protected and radiant, and you are left feeling superbly relaxed.

What Sarah said about the Heavenly Spa at The Westin

I have had a lot of facials over time, and this was really exceptional - I think it’s the best facial I’ve ever had. I felt relaxed as if I had had a full body massage, and my skin was immediately better, but the effects lasted so well I didn’t wear any make-up for four days afterwards. Lots of people commented on how good my skin looked too!

Some of my favourite things about the treatment were the bubble mask, which you can feel working on the skin, which is a nice sensation. They also applied thermal therapy, where hot and cold towels are alternated on the skin - like a thermal spa for your face. There was a head massage during the masks, which was fantastic, and the overall experience was beautiful.

The treatment itself was amazing, but it was also about the details added by Heavenly Spa at The Westin. They have really thought about the experience, from putting your feet up as soon as you lay down, to the heated treatment bed which makes you feel relaxed and cosy.

The fact that the treatment has immediate results is also amazing. I would highly recommend it and can’t wait to have it again!

The Cityproof Facial is a 60-minute treatment, which you can choose to have as part of their Heavenly Spa City Break. Go on, treat yourself!
