A spa package that was made for Valentine’s Day. Chocolate, I’m in Love from Fota Island Resort and Spa combines two decadent spa treatments to give you one delicious experience. Fusing a Chocolate Hydrotherapy Bath with their Little Bit Sweeter Chocolate Massage, here they explain what it is and why it works wonders for mind and body…
What exactly is the treatment?
It is a combination of two treatments in one package. You start with a 20-minute hydrotherapy bath using chocolate bath salts. It combines the healing powers of water treatments and the therapeutic touch of massage jets with colour light therapy to relax the mind and the body. The bath is then followed by a 50-minute chocolate full body massage, which we call a Little Bit Sweeter, and is an indulgent head to toe treatment.
Where does it come from?
We use a variety of brands that work well with our spa facilities and ethos. For these particular treatments we use French product line, Les Luneídes. They are a natural aromatherapy spa line. They use high quality ingredients combined with a specific energetic therapies to enhance wellbeing and induce total relaxation.
What is it supposed to do?
The chocolate bath is relaxing and the cocoa bean promotes a feeling of well-being, combating mental fatigue. Meanwhile, massage jets work on every area of the body. Afterwards, the chocolate full body massage is also designed to combat mental and physical fatigue. It is a rich chocolate full body massage, which will leave your skin feeling soft and silky smooth.
Is there anything you recommend clients to do pre or post-treatment to get the most out of it?
Prior to the treatment, clients have access to the thermal suite and the hydro pool. They work on the muscles and help to prepare the body and skin to get the most out of the treatment.
Is there anything you do to enhance the treatment?
For the Chocolate, I’m In Love package we combine two treatments that work really well together. To get the most out of it we include one hour’s use of the thermal spa experience suite. It features a hydro pool with nine specially designed areas to massage the entire body, including a walking river. The experience is then followed by a delicious chocolate mousse post-treatment. It just adds that little touch of ostentatiousness and soothes any sugar cravings!
Is there anyone you particularly recommend the treatment for?
The treatment is suitable for everyone, but obviously it goes down a treat with chocolate lovers! It’s really just one for total decadence and anyone looking for a thoroughly relaxing experience.
Is there anyone who shouldn’t have this treatment and why?
Anyone with allergies should speak to their therapist before the treatment. It is not suitable for anyone with nut allergies. The bath also wouldn’t be suitable during pregnancy or for those with high blood pressure.
