The Spa at Carden is a real wellness haven, set within a 1000 acre estate complete with its own vineyard, hotel and two golf courses. The spa itself is purpose-built and immense, an adult-only experience with two-storeys of indoor facilities ranging from a pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, bucket shower and sun shower as well as signature treatments using herbs grown in the hotel’s own garden. Outside they have a 2,500 square metre spa garden that's usable in any weather. From hot tubs sunk into the earth to a sauna with a floor-to-ceiling window and a view of the grounds, it's a treat come rain or shine.
Pennyhill Park is famously elaborate, with an expansive spa alongside its five star hotel. At 45,000 sq. ft, the spa has a world of experiences from thermal pools that flow from indoors into the gardens, to the ballroom pool with underwater music. Move from inside out and back again, swimming in the rain or lounging in the sun in one of their private cabanas or Canadian hot tubs. The possibilities are endless.
Alongside an impressive hotel, Rudding Park's spa is chic, modern and indulgent. Vast swathes of glass allow you to enjoy the view of the grounds come rain or shine, and facilities glide from inside out offering a range of all-weather experiences. The adult-only retreat has multiple floors with different pools, relaxation lounges and treatment rooms, as well as experiences including the sunlight therapy room, which safely replicates natural sunlight in relaxing 20-minute sessions. At the top you will find the rooftop spa garden. Here you can relax in the infinity pool on cool, sunny days or under sultry grey clouds or saunas and steam rooms with a view.
K West Hotel & Spa is very much an indoor experience that's perfect for urban indulgence. However, for those who want the benefits of time in the sun without having to depend upon the weather, they have a unique experience to enjoy. As well as the warmth of the sauna and steam room, spend time in the Sun Meadow room. Featuring specially designed UV lights for light therapy treatment, guests enjoy the sound of birdsong and a running stream under gentle lights that feel like sunshine, encouraging the production of Vitamin D and serotonin.
The Three Horseshoes Country Inn & Spa is a family run inn and its Mill Wheel Spa is a beautifully choreographed, rustic space with unique facilities including their Beach Hut, an experience which replicates the positive benefits of being on a beach in the sun. It is a comfortable, safe and relaxing environment where you lie on a bed of warm sand in a 25-minute experience that takes guests from darkness to sunrise to peak sunshine and then sunset. Soothing music and essential oils complete the ‘holiday’ experience. Topping up Vitamin D levels, the experience can be shared with other guests at the same time.
There are so many reasons to love Manor House Hotel - Alsager, but their range of carefully considered indoor-outdoor facilities is most definitely amongst them. The relaxed style of their English Country Spa Garden alongside all their indoor experiences is a joy, from the pool house, vitality pool, hydrotherapy tub, pavilion, summer house, salt steam inhalation chamber, potting sauna shed, plunge bath, seating areas, and of course the swim-up bar.
A spectacular destination for groups and families, Hilton Garden Inn Snowdonia is in the Adventure Parc Snowdonia and offers a whole world of leisure and wellbeing, from a giant inland surf lagoon to The Wave Garden Spa with views of the great outdoors. This is a little world of its own with indoor and outdoor hydrotherapy pools, a double hammam, foot spa and Himalayan salt sauna. There's an outdoor cocoon seating overlooking the water towards the mountains and forests beyond, as well as fire pits to keep you cosy as you relax to a soundtrack of rolling waves.
A dreamy destination in County Durham, Rockliffe Hall combines the beauty of a heritage hotel with a contemporary 50,000 square foot spa. In this wonderland of wellness, you could spend all day inside or outside if you wanted, with an indoor hydropool, swimming pool and thermal bathing suite alongside a hot tub, decking and lounging areas. There’s also a dedicated spa garden with an infinity edge pool, warmed loungers, glass fronted sauna and sumptuous daybeds.
Hoar Cross Hall has always been a dream to visit for its Jacobean hotel and its wealth of luxury spa experiences, from a 26-metre saltwater vitality pool to Kneipp pools, heated loungers, a Snooze Room, and a Slumber Lounge. However, they have now added the spectacular Spa Terrace as well, with three 15-metre thermal pools, Brass Monkey Cold Barrels for cold water immersion therapy, a glass-fronted juniper log sauna and cabanas with 'room service'. There’s also a Mediterranean-inspired bar and lounge and fire pits surrounded by comfy seating so you can cosy up under the stars late into the evening.
Galgorm is aptly described as having a Thermal Village, peppered across its grounds and inviting guests on a wellness journey that celebrates its beautiful surroundings. There’s a pool, orangery, Celtic sauna, a snow cabin and sanarium, as well as the River House for classes, which is raised on stilts with views over the cascading River Maine. A snail shell-shaped experience shower is a real talking point, as well as an infinity hydrotherapy pool, outdoor hot tubs with views of the waterfall and a host of saunas. That's before you even get to treatments including the Beltane Experience featuring a 12-person hot tub.
