Following the launch of the industry first gold standard Elysium Collection of exclusive luxury experiences, Spabreaks.com is taking spa to the high seas with Wellness on the Waves.
Changing the meaning of cruise holidays
Taking the cruise concept to new heights, we have partnered with luxury cruise line Celebrity Cruises. The concept fuses exceptional spa experiences with luxury travel in a new way. The collaboration launches with Celebrity Apex, the first cruise ship to join Spabreaks.com, and part of the celebrated Elysium Collection.
Going beyond the historic idea of pampering that’s incidental to cruise holidays, the luxury cruise liner places wellbeing at the heart of travel with a purpose-built spa to rival the most exquisite of traditional wellbeing destinations.
Leisure combines a 25-yard lap pool on the top deck with two storey martini glass hot tubs and private cabanas. However, the spa itself centres around a marble thermal suite - the first of its kind to be offered at sea - and is designed by the renowned Kelly Hoppen MBE.
Across an impressive 23 treatment rooms, guests are treated to therapies by Elemis, including Elemis Biotec Facials, and there is also an Advanced MedSpa for cosmetic treatments. The space is complete with a Kérastase Institute hair salon and a barber shop.
Meanwhile accommodation features exemplary design, space and a fusion of indoor and outdoor spaces and dining offers a global culinary tour across 29 restaurants, bars, cafes and lounges, all curated by Michelin star chef, Cornelius Gallagher.
The partnership exemplifies Spabreaks.com’s ongoing commitment to showcasing the wide variety of exceptional spa experiences available, and in particular to celebrate the individuality of different destinations and what they have to offer.
“The launch of Wellness on the Waves is the result of ongoing efforts between Spabreaks.com and Celebrity Cruises to bring a completely unique spa experience to guests and to add a new dimension to their enjoyment of their cruise holidays. My personal passion to celebrate the variety of spa options available and their unique characteristics is embodied in this partnership and I am very much looking forward to sharing it with our guests and building on it.”
Spabreaks.com Founder, Abi Selby
“Like her industry-changing sister ship, Celebrity Edge - which has just been named one of TIME Magazine’s 2019 World’s Greatest Places - Celebrity Apex is changing the face of luxury cruising with its beautiful design and incredible features. Our partnership with Spabreaks.com is a brilliant way for us to showcase the cutting-edge spa and its services to like-minded guests who may have never cruised before.”

One of the simplest ways to start navigating the world of wellness is to look at the difference between a wellness retreat and a spa hotel/hotel spa. If you’re struggling to decide where to go on your next spa break, understanding these two categories can help you choose the best experience for you on this particular occasion.
There are so many beautiful spa hotels in the UK, and especially in the North of England, all offering different experiences for different occasions. Amongst them, The Spa Hotel at Ribby Hall Village in Lancashire and Rudding Park in North Yorkshire are top the list for discerning wellness travellers.
With Wimbledon starting next week we thought we would give you the chance to channel your own Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka with a spot of tennis at some of our top spas for playing tennis in spa style.
