We don't see this chilly time of year as a period of restriction and diet - but instead as a time for nurturing and improving how we feel about ourselves in both mind and body. With that in mind, here are some of our top spas for detox in 2023.
An ultra luxurious hotel and spa, The Langley is an exquisite hotel with a brand new spa experience. Complete with spa butlers, spend time an infinity edge vitality pool complete with loungers and body jets, a Himalayan salt sauna with a juniper wall, a brine-infused steam room with a citronite crystal as the focal point and a hammam which is open for everyone to use but can also be booked privately. In addition to the main facilities, there’s a female only spa area with heated loungers, a sanarium, a rose quartz steam room that uses a rose infusion, a vitality pool and another hammam. For guests who want the ultimate in peace and seclusion there is also a VIP suite with couches, a private butler, Champagne, fruit and anything else that you want. The suite includes its own juniper-infused sauna, vitality pool, amethyst steam room, private changing facilities, and of course you have access to the main facilities as well.
A purpose-built day spa experience, The Spa at Breedon Priory is located in 24 acres of countryside and is designed for total wellbeing. The outdoor pool is a central feature, and a suite of facilities take you on a journey towards wellness. Roam from the steam rooms, saunas and experience showers to the relaxation area, sun terrace, spa garden, and slumber room. Their treatments are from Temple Spa, Tribe 517, Pinks Boutique and Proverb, there's a private space (The Hideaway) for you to enjoy as a couple or with friends. Completing the spa experience is the Terrace Restaurant, where they serve seasonal dishes.
A five-star London hotel with views of the Thames, Heavenly Spa at The Westin London City where wellness is based around six core pillars: eat well, sleep well, feel well, work well, play well and move well. They take great pride and consideration in their treatment offering, from CBD therapies to their own unique treatments like their Meridian Flow Golden Ritual. They also have a 24-hour gym and a glamorous hotel to go and rest in afterwards.

The spa is filled with beautiful experiences, such as a pool, hydro pool with bubbling volcanoes, a Scandinavian sauna, aromatherapy steam room using essences of coconut, orange blossom, eucalyptus and vanilla, a Himalayan salt room, a beautifully lit ice room, Nordic inspired bucket showers, and of course, a gym. Meanwhile, the hotel is very much about decadence - long lie-ins, three-course dinners... the aim of the game here is balance.
Ultra modern, eco friendly, and adult-only, the Glass House Retreat is all about luxury treatments and the nutritional benefits of a plant-based diet thanks to co-founder Joy Jarvis, a lifelong devotee of vegetarianism. A building formed of lots of glass and filled with natural light, they have a beautiful range of facilities designed for wellbeing. For example, there's a salt block sauna, cryo chamber, a gym and a heated leisure pool. This sits alongside a collection of treatments ranging from the holistic to the latest Dermalux® and Lipofirm technology treatments.
