Read full postWhen dreaming up the perfect spa staycations, it wouldn’t be complete without a swimming pool to relax in, exercise in and let the weight lift off your shoulders, in. Taking the swimming pool idea to a whole new level, these are some of the most amazing spa pools to complete the spa staycation you’re dreaming as we plan ahead for the summer…
Charmingly designed to celebrate the surrounding landscape, The Spa at South Lodge does much to honour the natural world. The pool is very much part of that. There’s an infinity pool and a superb thermal suite, but also a unique wild swimming pool, which is a heated outdoor pond, complete with reeds and moss for a natural vibe and delivers a totally unique experience.
One of the most celebrated spas in the UK, Pennyhill Park has more pools and wet facilities than you could possibly use in one day. One of the most iconic however is the ballroom pool. It is a vast and grand space that invites you to bathe, swim and luxuriate in your surroundings. It is 25 metres long and surrounded by Romanesque columns and loungers, but also underwater music and fibre optic lighting to complete the sense of luxury.
Part of Rudding Park’s unique and magnificent rooftop spa garden, the infinity pool is a decadent experience that sees you lounge in bath temperatures with views of the gardens. The dedicated bar and waiting service means that you can even have a glass (or a bottle) of Champagne brought to you while you swim, making it superbly relaxing and wonderfully indulgent.
The breathtaking surroundings at Lodore Falls Hotel and Spa are very much part of the appeal, and the hotel and spa have been designed to celebrate them at every turn. The pool in particular is a magnificent way to do that, feeling most magical as you swim towards the lakes and Catbells mountain range in the Cumbrian countryside. It’s a 16 metre hydro pool with neck jets, underwater loungers and an amazing overflow hot tub feature, and there’s even a glass-fronted Finnish sauna so you can enjoy the view and stay warm.
