In the heart of rural Staffordshire, Moddershall Oaks has always been a unique destination thanks to its spa and all-suite hotel accommodation. However, a series of updates have turned it into the height of luxury, now joining our exclusive Elysium Collection.
The cosy former farmhouse is blessed with enchanting views that set the scene for rest and relaxation. Dinner is served with a view of the lake and there are 72-acres of grounds and gardens to explore. It's the carefully considered details however, that really set it apart. Here's what you need to know.
The spa at Moddershall Oaks is a tale of two halves - fitness and relaxation.
Wellness Centre is the place for working out, complete with a spacious gym and an array of classes to join ranging from yoga and HIIT to meditation and circuits. Hotel guests can take part in the classes at a reduced rate, but you do need to book in advance. It's also worth noting that this part of the estate is home to MADE - a plant-based cafe serving up healthy fare from fresh green juices to berry smoothies, oat energy bites and smashed avocado on toast.
The spa is a complete sanctuary, at the heart of which is an outdoor vitality pool. Flanked by a sauna, and a seated area that extends into a relaxation lounge complete with an outdoor bioethanol fire, there's full poolside service, so you can enjoy cocktails, mocktails, herbal teas and champagne brought to you by the water.
Inside, the experience continues with facilities including:
There's also a rasul mud chamber, which can be added to any spa day - perfect for small groups and couples as well as preparing mind and body for further therapies.
Spa treatments are just as special at Moddershall Oaks, with therapists using the exquisite, Tribe517 products and rituals as well as those from Neom. Tribe517 was founded by spa expert Claire Caddick, who tailors her training and treatments to individual destinations.
Therapists are also trained in oncology massage, and in particular they offer Tribe517's Beautiful Hero treatments for anyone who has experienced cancer. They have also introduced dedicated menopause spa therapies for women going through hormonal change.
A spa day is a joy at Moddershall Oaks, but if you get the chance to stay then it's definitely worth it. The all-suite hotel is five-star style all the way, with 10 rooms to choose from, ranging from the romantic master suite with its four-poster bed and freestanding bath, to the spacious deluxe suite, studio suites and their accessible suite. Each has an outdoor terrace or balcony with views stretching across the rural landscape.
Their restaurant is a beautiful experience in its own right. Brimming with natural light and plant life, the Oakhouse Restaurant is set over two stories and has a balcony bar. It's relaxed and welcoming, making it perfect for groups of friends or romantic getaways. In the summer months they also throw the bifolding doors open so you can make the most of sundowners, cocktails and mocktails.
