From Yorkshire spa retreats to Suffolk wellbeing destinations, winter feels a little warmer this year with the arrival of some exquisite spa destinations to Spabreaks.com this November.
Read full postRight by the beach, and with plenty of activities to keep kids entertained, Bedruthan Hotel and Spa is part of a new type of family friendly hotel that doesn’t compromise on luxury experience for adults. This is why families love a spa break at Bedruthan Hotel and Spa… and so does everyone else…
Now that we’re in the midst of the summer holidays it’s all about sandy toes and salty swims. Bedruthan Hotel and Spa sits right by a beautiful Cornish beach between Padstow and Newquay with views across the Atlantic. Dogs are welcome and when the sun shines you get a picture of complete postcard perfect holiday bliss. All you need is a good set of photos where everyone’s faces are covered in ice cream.
Being able to bring the dog with you on holiday really completes the sense of family happiness for those who have four legged friends. Meaning you can stay longer knowing you haven’t got to leave him at home with a sitter. Many parts of the hotel are dog friendly, they have a sitter service in case you want to go off and do an activity (surf lesson perhaps) for a while, and of course there’s that beach for lots of walking and running about.
Gardens, swimming pools, wild swimming in the hidden lagoon and building sandcastles on the beach lend themselves to outdoor fun in the summer months, but there are also activities to book as well. Perhaps most popular, are the surf lessons given the proximity to the water. The Surf Club Cornwall is based within the grounds of the Bedruthan Hotel, offering lessons to anyone aged six years old and up.
This is not a place that’s just about fish fingers and chips - even if we are partial to those as well. The Wild Café is a casual, colourful environment where you can sit back and watch the surf with your morning coffee, but on a wider scale, food ranges from tapas to local classics. Diverse inspirational twists from the likes of Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Yotam Ottolenghi are both present the café as well as the more formal restaurant, The Herring. If you choose to venture out, there are also lots of lovely restaurants in the surrounding area, and you’re not far from Rick Stein’s well known haunt.
While the hotel has plenty for families to enjoy, it’s a sophisticated place that recognises sometimes mum and dad need a moment to themselves. And they will find it in the spa. For those over the age of 16 years old only, it is all sea views and contemporary facilities. Take it in from the hydropool or relax together in the Lanai Spa Lounge with herbal teas. Wander in the Sensory Spa Garden which is inspired by fire, earth, water, air and space. Breathe deeply in the cedar sauna and eucalyptus steam room and take long, leisurely swims in the indoor and outdoor pools.
