Their Head Therapist and Trainer, Tina Herridge, talks here about their SKN-RG Wave facial; a fully immersive spa treatment that aims to reduce the appearance of ageing, as well as de-stressing the mind using unique products, jade crystals, and even a tuning fork!
Here’s what it is and why it works…
The SKN-RG® Wave Facial is a unique tri-system that works beyond the layers of the skin.
SKN-RG® SPA Wave uses sonic sound waves that travel though the body to increase vitality at a cellular level. It’s a fully immersive treatment that will balance areas that out of kilter, calm and de-stress the mind, rejuvenate the skin and significantly reduce the ageing effect of ‘telomeres’.
Telomeres are present in our DNA and act as the ageing clock in every cell. By calming the body, the ageing process can be slowed. SKN-RG’s unique cutting-edge treatment is completely non-invasive, increasing and enhancing chi (otherwise known as life force). It gives you the ultimate whole-body experience.
It starts with a bespoke soundtrack which was created for the treatment. It incorporates a meditative ‘om’ mantra to calm the mind, body and spirit. This is playing as you enter the room. Your therapist will then advise you of the three-step process:
Before beginning the treatment your therapist will use a room spray containing blue and white lotus to clear any negative energy.
Your therapist will then guide you through three deep breaths to bring more oxygen around the body, starting the relaxation process. Three powerful chakra crystals are placed on the body and tuning forks are activated and worked along the body from the feet to the ears. You will hear them being activated and feel a gentle vibration on the body, bringing balance and equilibrium.
Your therapist will then cleanse the face and neck. They will remove the product with two hot towels to encourage blood flow and open the pores. This allows the products to penetrate deeper into the skin.
An exfoliation follows to remove dead skin cells. It is applied using super soft brushes and a circular facial massage over the skin, leaving the pores fresh, open and accessible to nutrients. A mask is applied using relaxing brushes which can penetrate deeper into the layers of the skin.
Whilst the mask is on, a jade eye mask is applied to the eyes which provides anti-ageing properties. The tuning forks are also used on the body again. The mask is removed using two hot towels. Then the tuning forks are used on the face on the acupressure points, maximising anti-ageing benefits.
A SKN-RG® facial massage follows using specialist deep, yet slow, massage techniques. These really lift and tone the muscles whilst providing ultimate relaxation. A crystal massage follows using semi-precious rose or clear quartz crystals, depending on the desired outcome, to provide healthy glowing skin. The massage oil is removed using a hot towel and then a toner, skin treatment, eye cream, moisturiser and lip balm are applied.
The closing ritual starts with a scalp massage. Tuning forks are then placed all over the body from the feet to the ears before the chakra crystals are removed. The room spray completes this truly unique treatment, which not only brings balance and harmony to the skin, but provides incredible results too!

The treatment is also personalised to you. After a consultation, your therapist will choose the right SKN-RG product range for you. It will depend on your skin type and what outcome you would like from your facial.
A specialist massage technique is used in this treatment as well. It works beyond the layers of the skin. It connects to the energy lines in the body, bringing balance to the body.
A jade eye mask is placed over the eyes whilst the products are on too. Jade crystals are known for their anti-ageing properties, which include reducing puffiness, wrinkles and dark circles around the eyes.
We recommend you use the SenSpa hydrotherapy facilities prior to your treatment to begin the process of relaxation. If you arrive relaxed and balanced coming into the treatment then your skin absorbs the products better. The SKN-RG Sound and Frequency will also work more quickly to bring you into a meditative state.
After the treatment it is important to relax and drink plenty of water to hydrate the body and flush through any toxins. To maintain maximum benefits from your treatment we also suggest you follow the skincare routine advised by your therapist afterwards, and receive regular facials.

People who have any contagious skin infections on the head, face and neck should avoid it as touching these areas can cause the infection to spread. People who have a pacemaker fitted should also avoid it because the vibrations from the tuning forks can interfere with the natural rhythm of the body.
