SenSpa at Careys Manor takes its inspiration from Thailand. When the diligent proprietors set about creating a true wellbeing experience, they spent time in the Far East learning about and exploring Thai spa practices to bring a true representation of the wellbeing the region offers to the UK. The result is 22,000 square feet of wellbeing, where facilities were designed under the guidance of acclaimed spa director, Lina Lotto. They include a beautiful 14-metre UV treated swimming pool, a poolside Jacuzzi, a sauna and steam room as well as a state of the art gym, all of which are open to hotel guests. Spa guests also enjoy access to the hydrotherapy suite, which includes a hydrotherapy pool featuring jets and a 'volcano' enclosure. There’s also a crystal steam room, herbal sauna, experience showers, a laconium, a tepidarium with mosaic heated loungers and a relaxation suite which is bedecked with Thai silks and decor.
Spa therapists at SenSpa also bring a unique dimension to the experience. Enjoying some of the most extensive and ongoing training, all treatments are designed at SenSpa, which is almost unheard of, so standards are kept superbly high. That said, there is also a sense of fun, warmth and intuition in everything they do. Protocols are professional but not rigid and the result is a very personal approach enjoyed both by guests and the team. The experience is complete with post treatment relaxation, characterised by their own signature tea. A blend of herbs inspired by the flavours of Thailand, it is served as a welcome drink as well as being readily available throughout your spa break. It sets you up perfectly to enjoy a restorative meal in the spa restaurant afterwards, where they serve some of the finest authentic and healthy Thai food, inspired both by street food and Thailand’s royal culinary traditions.
