About the spa
A five star venue is never complete without a seriously impressive spa area as well, and The Scotman’s 20,000 square foot exercise and relaxation space fits the bill perfectly. Facilities include a gym, studio space for classes, a stainless steel swimming pool, sauna, steam room, spa pool and tropicarium, and the area also has its own café, juice bar and a relaxation room.
Proudly titled Aveda’s only ‘destination lifestyle spa’ in Scotland, there are five treatment rooms offering a variety of holistic, bespoke treatments using unique techniques and products that work on the body as well as the mind and emotions. Treatments are tailored to your specific needs with the upshot that no two experiences will ever be the same.
About the accommodation
Built in 1905, the building that is now The Scotsman Hotel, was originally the home of the newspaper of the same name, and as such was built with omniscient prestige in mind. As such, the 69-room hotel retains enviable views across the city skyline as well as original interior features including the Italian marble staircase, oak panelling, ornate ceilings and marble pillars.
There is one restaurant – the North Bridge Brasserie, open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, refreshments and evening meals, when Executive Head Chef, Paul Hart serves seasonal Scottish cuisine combined with a carefully considered selection of wine and whisky.
