Macdonald Berystede Hotel and Spa has been a favourite destination for Spabreakers since we began 15 years ago, and in that time it's continued to evolve and add even more new and wonderful experiences. Here are just five of the reasons we love Macdonald Berystede Hotel and Spa.
It's a beautiful and welcoming hotel
The building that forms the hotel, and the original base from which the rest of the estate has developed, is a historic manor house dating back to 1850. Characterful but homely, it has retained many of its original features, not least an impressive staircase and structural details. It combines the best of grandeur and an easy-going welcome.
An award-winning restaurant
Food is an essential part of any spa break, and Macdonald Berystede Hotel and Spa never fails to disappoint. In the hotel, the Hyperion has been awarded an AA Rosette, while for more casual meals there is the Diadem Bar or Oak Lounge. For those on spa days, the spa has its own space put aside for a healthy bento box lunch and plenty of herbal tea.
Tranquil gardens
The hotel gardens are an important feature, not least because they set the scene for rest and relaxation. Having matured over the years, they are modestly sized but amply planted, creating a biophilic tranquillity that's perfect whether you're here for the day or a weekend.
