Home to the first Jiva Spa in Europe, which it shares with Taj 51 Buckingham Gate, St James’ Court brings a carefully styled wellbeing concept to the UK, fusing Indian wellness philosophy with luxury British innovation. As you might expect from this glamorous destination, the style of the spa is rich and indulgent, providing a space where you feel utterly pampered - think copper baths and attention to detail. Spa facilities include a specially appointed relaxation area, two single treatments rooms, one couples’ suite, a vitality pool, steam room, sauna and an experience shower. There’s also a new fitness centre and Technogym for workouts.
Treatments are very much at the heart of the spa experience. They see a collaboration between Taj’s award winning Jiva products and the British lifestyle brand Temple Spa. Jiva products and treatments are inspired by the meaning of the word itself (inner force) which has been deeply rooted in India’s wellness heritage across the centuries. Meanwhile, Temple Spa is known for its results-driven skincare and Mediterranean influences. The result is exceptional rituals and treatments such as a three hour dual ritual. Hair by Dar, led by celebrity hairstylist Dar, adds a touch of glamour by offering luxurious and personalised services for hair and make-up.
St James’ Court brings four star luxury from India’s Taj hotels and gives it a whole new meaning. Fusing history and modernity in exceptional style, it is crisp and elegant - as you might expect in SW1. Sitting adjacent to its sister hotel, the five star Taj 51 Buckingham Gate, it centres around an exquisite courtyard complete with a fountain, swimming fish and beautiful outdoor spaces to relax in. Offering guests the brand’s signature Golden Keys Concierge Service, you stay in newly designed rooms which combine modern luxuries with the historic features of the building.
Guests have a choice of three restaurants to dine in at the hotel, including the Michelin starred Quilon. Kona is the destination of choice for vibrant colours and flavours as well as award-winning themed afternoon teas. Meanwhile, Bistro is a relaxed space for international favourites. Quilon on the other hand takes you on a tantalising journey along the south west coast of India, blending traditional and modern flavours in a range of dishes, many designed for sharing. For really special occasions the chef will also recommend a tasting menu tailored to your palate. Alternatively, you might also choose to hop in a cab to nearby Bombay Brasserie for a contemporary gourmet experience. Then afterwards convene in the Hamptons Bar for cocktails accompanied by music from the hotel’s resident pianist. In the summer months, cocktails by the fountain are also very much in vogue.
