- The Summer Edit
The spa at The Langley is a brand new, purpose built destination, designed to be a wellness journey. In a separate building to the hotel within the grounds, it is exclusive at every turn. The team is extremely careful to restrict the number of people in the spa at any given time so the space always feels peaceful. Guests are shown to the spa lounge to complete their consultation forms over a welcome drink. They are then shown around the facilities by one of the spa butlers.
Throughout the spa experience, spa butlers are on hand in case guests need anything or have any questions. Facilities include an infinity edge vitality pool complete with loungers and body jets, a Himalayan salt sauna with a juniper wall, a brine-infused steam room with a citronite crystal as the focal point and a hammam which is open for everyone to use but can also be booked privately. There’s also a 16.5m marble edged swimming pool and a gym for those who want to work out. In addition to the main facilities, there’s a female only spa area with heated loungers, a sanarium, a rose quartz steam room that uses a rose infusion, a vitality pool and another hammam. For guests who want the ultimate in peace and seclusion there is also a VIP suite with couches, a private butler, Champagne, fruit and anything else that you want. The suite includes its own juniper-infused sauna, vitality pool, amethyst steam room, private changing facilities, and of course you have access to the main facilities as well.
Treatments at The Langley continue the sense of personalised luxury. Therapists will collect guests from one of the relaxation rooms and take you to spa suite. There are four single treatment rooms and one double room. The spa uses two product lines, including Sisley for results-driven and highly focused facials, and Sultane de Saba for all body and hammam ‘journeys’. The spa aims to deliver a completely innovative and unique range of experiences and as such offers really special treatments ranging from candle massage to shirodhara, an ayurvedic treatment involving warm oil being poured onto the forehead. There are hammam therapies based on the ancient cleansing tradition, as well as unique twists on the traditional format including a bubble hammam massage where the body is cocooned in bubbles. Men’s treatments use the luxury brand Gentleman’s Tonic, and tanning, manicures and pedicures are also available.
Once a royal hunting estate owned by the Duke of Marlborough, the Langley is an exquisite manor house surrounded by acres of formal gardens and bountiful parkland. The sense of exclusivity is perpetuated by the boutique selection of rooms and suites that the hotel has to offer. They amount to 41 in total and are spread across the historic main house as well as the Brew House, a Grade II listed 18th century outbuilding. The result is a decadent sense of space and two very different styles to choose from. In the main house, suites are traditional, historic and luxuriously romantic. In the Brew House, rooms are more contemporary and some have private terraces with views of the gardens.
The Churchill Bar and Cedar Restaurant have an impressive capacity to be all things to all people. Indoor and outdoor spaces merge into one another, and whether you’re visiting as a couple, a group or on your own, you can dine in open space or cosy intimacy. The wine room offers a quiet oasis while the mezzanine is a more relaxed location with views of the hills. The bar delivers a sense of peace and quiet by day and night as you watch the mediative flicker of the fire or waterwheel whilst nursing a glass of wine. In addition, the spa has its own lounge where you can have a light lunch, smoothies, juices, teas, coffees and Champagne without having to change out of your robe and slippers.
