The perfect mix of city and escape, The Killarney Park Hotel is one of Ireland’s most celebrated hotel spa destinations …
From log fires to five star service, The Killarney Park Hotel has earned its reputation as one of the area’s hospitable gems, while the location showcases some of Ireland’s most scenic landscapes whilst also being in the midst of Killarney itself.
You have a choice when it comes to accommodation between contemporary chic and ornate classicism in terms of design, but either way you are afforded ample space and all the necessary details to ensure a comfortable stay – marble bathrooms, robes and slippers at the ready, and a view of either the gardens, the mountains, or the historic town.
For exercise I really would recommend either an exploration of the town or a jaunt into the abundant national park nearby despite the presence of a gym at the hotel – it seems a shame to stay inside the whole time no matter how nice it is! That said, do leave a little while to wallow in the sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, caldarium, bubble pool, and swimming pool or get the best of both worlds in the outdoor hot tub. Naturally, you will want to follow this with an Eve Lom or Elemis treatment in the spa as well – it would be rude not to really!
You can of course head out into Killarney for dinner, and if you are staying several nights then it is highly recommended. For those who simply want to relax within tripping distance of their five star beds however, the hotel’s fine dining experience, The Park Restaurant, is worth booking for traditional Irish fare, or for more casual meals and drinks the Garden Bar is also available.
Surrounded by 25,000 acre national park, in addition to the charms of the hotel itself, it is worthwhile exploring the area and everything it has to offer from walking, cycling, to horse riding, and fishing. In fact it has all the ingredients for a completely relaxed weekend break.
The location of this hotel is an unusual mix – it is in the town of Killarney but within incredibly easy reach of an abundant natural landscape, making for a diverse weekend break, while the five star standard of the hotel and fine dining make it a romantic getaway or a place for a good catch up with old friends.
Head to the national park to see the native Red Deer roaming free.
There’s lots to see and do in the surrounding area – a trip to 15th century Ross Castle for example is a historic day out!
Take some time to explore the town thanks to the convenient location!
