A trip to the Cotswolds is all about enjoying your leisure time, both indoors and out. Cricklade House Hotel and Fritillary and Spa embodies that philosophy, with a variety of experiences to enjoy during your stay. At the hotel itself, there's a nine-hole golf course, tennis court, and a state of the art Pétangue court, as well as gardens and grounds to stroll in. Venture beyond the hotel bounds and you will find ample walks and cycle trails.
The Fritillary Spa is central to your stay. The spa's name is taken from a particular variety of local flower, with some of the best known Fritillary fields set along the flood meadows of the Thames. Enjoying views across the Marlborough Downs, the spa has a variety of facilities including a luxe beauty suite, spa lounge, indoor heated pool, steam room and sauna and a fitness suite.
They also have five treatment suites, both single and double, where therapists offer a range of unique, holistic and restorative therapies for face and body. Choose from a menu of beautiful options, ranging from a Rejuvenating Hand Ritual with vitamin E and Karitè butter to an avant-garde Skin Expert Analyser or a Hydramemory facial with Moringa oil and hyaluronic acid.
An enchanting country house hotel in the picturesque Cotswolds, Cricklade House Hotel and Fritillary and Spa sits in 30 acres of countryside complete with tranquil gardens and their own golf course. A combination of contemporary wellness and hospitality meets heritage elegance; the hotel is romantic, relaxing and luxurious. The property was originally built around 1920 as a private house. Today, it has 45 bedrooms spread across the main house and a courtyard extension. Rooms in the main house offer contemporary luxe interiors alongside historic details such as mullion windows looking out onto the Wiltshire Downs. Courtyard Rooms are in an adjacent building, and offer a more modern style.
In this abundant part of the UK, it is fitting that food and drink prioritises locally sourced ingredients. Mindful of the provenance of everything they serve, the hotel seeks to reduce food miles and pollution wherever possible. Even their bespoke ‘Cotswold bitter’ is made with Arkell’s brewery, local family brewers, just eight miles away. The hotel's Terrace Bar is a warm and inviting space overlooking the first hole on the golf course. They have over 100 gins and whiskies in stock, an extensive wine list, as well as a fantastic selection of tea from Born Wild. The restaurant is equally charming, whipping up that aforementioned local fare into a range of delicious dishes, including a superb traditional Sunday lunch. The hotel is also known for serving an excellent afternoon tea.
